About
The Harley-Davidson XR1200X is a sport-oriented motorcycle that breaks away from the traditional Harley-Davidson design. Introduced in 2011, it was designed to appeal to European buyers and younger riders with its flat-track inspired styling. The bike features a 1202 cc air-cooled, 45-degree V-twin engine with fuel injection, producing 73.8 ft-lb of torque at 3700 rpm. It has a 5-speed transmission and a belt final drive. The XR1200X boasts fully adjustable Showa suspension at both the front and rear, along with high-performance Dunlop Qualifier radial tires. The bike is known for its excellent cornering capabilities, confident braking, and a comfortable yet sporty riding position. Despite its sporty nature, it retains the classic Harley-Davidson feel, making it a unique offering in the market. However, its important to note the potential issues with fit and finish, particularly corrosion on exposed metal parts, which require regular maintenance to prevent.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Harley-Davidson XR1200X is a unique blend of Harleys traditional V-twin power and sporty handling, making it a standout in the Harley-Davidson lineup. When I rode the XR1200X, I was impressed by its ability to corner exceptionally well, with a lean angle of up to 40 degrees, which is uncommon for a Harley. The bikes air-cooled, 45-degree V-twin engine delivers a throaty, torque-filled power delivery, particularly in the lower rpm range, making it thrilling to ride. However, the ergonomics can be a bit cramped for taller riders, and the clutch action requires a firm grip. Despite some minor issues with fit and finish, the XR1200X offers a balanced and sporty ride that is both fun and comfortable. If you can find a good deal, this bike is definitely worth considering for those who want a Harley with a sportier edge.
Price
In India, the Harley-Davidson XR1200X was not widely available, and its pricing varied based on import and customs duties. When it was available, the ex-showroom price could range from around 12 lakh to 15 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. On-road prices would be significantly higher, often exceeding 18 lakh to 20 lakh, including registration, insurance, and other costs. Given its limited availability and the fact that it was discontinued after 2013, finding a new XR1200X in India is unlikely. However, if youre looking at used models, prices can vary widely based on condition and mileage, but you might find a good deal in the range of 8 lakh to 12 lakh.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 02:38 PM
The mileage of the Harley-Davidson XR1200X in India is not particularly impressive, given its large V-twin engine. You can expect an average fuel efficiency of around 15-20 kml, which is typical for a high-performance cruiser. This means running costs will be higher, especially considering the thicker oil required and the need for regular maintenance. However, for enthusiasts who value the unique riding experience and power delivery of this bike, the mileage might be a secondary concern.

Iron 883 MY 2020

Just bought my 2020 Iron 883 and was delivered at home last 11 January 2021. It looks beautiful, the torque can be feel at lower rpm, for city driving is okay, in highway lacking with 6th gear, good ground clearance, fuel tank is good but not bad for my daily rides.
Best Features: Good ground clearance, Fuel tank is okay for daily ride
Pros: Its a beauty in black denim, nimble in highway
Cons: The seat is unconfortable after long rides. The gear indicator only shows when the clutch is release, its hard to find the neutral position, no 6th gear.
