Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse
About
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse is a standout model in the Scrambler lineup, designed with a strong focus on off-road capability while retaining the charm and performance of a Ducati. Powered by an 803cc L-twin air-cooled engine, it delivers 73 hp and features a 6-speed transmission with a light-action clutch. The bike boasts a fortified chassis, taller suspension with 7.9 inches of travel, and spoked wheels with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. The high seat height of 33.9 inches and extended wheelbase make it well-suited for off-road adventures, but it also handles well on paved roads. The Desert Sleds design is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, with a high front fender and striking color schemes. While it has some quirks, such as the low rear brake pedal and the need for occasional aftermarket tweaks, it remains a compelling choice for riders seeking a versatile and powerful motorcycle.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse is a versatile and visually appealing motorcycle that excels in both on-road and off-road scenarios. Its 803cc L-twin air-cooled engine produces a smooth 73 hp, making it suitable for a wide range of riders, from newcomers to seasoned enthusiasts. The bikes fortified chassis, taller suspension, and spoked wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires make it the most off-road capable model in the Scrambler lineup. However, it comes with some drawbacks, such as limited stopping power from the single front disc brake, high engine heat, and a somewhat uncomfortable seat for long rides. Despite these, the Desert Sleds handling and suspension are top-notch, and its forgiving clutch and smooth throttle response make it a joy to ride. For those who value both style and off-road capability, the Desert Sled is a compelling choice, but it may not be the best option for long highway rides or those seeking extreme power.
Price
In India, the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse is priced around 12.5 lakh ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the price can escalate to approximately 15-16 lakh. This places the Desert Sled in the premium segment of motorcycles, reflecting its high-quality build, advanced features, and the prestige of the Ducati brand. While it is certainly an investment, the unique blend of off-road prowess and on-road comfort justifies the cost for many enthusiasts. However, potential buyers should also consider the additional costs of aftermarket modifications that some owners find necessary to fully optimize the bikes performance and comfort.
Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse on road price is Rs 12.65 lakh in Delhi, Rs 13.08 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 12.80 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 12.97 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Ducati dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse, a limited-edition model, has been unveiled to celebrate the victory of Jordan Graham in the Hooligan class of the 2020 Mint 400. This special edition is limited to 800 units and features a unique livery with black and grey colors, along with the Fasthouse logo. The bike is equipped with an 803 cc engine, adjustable Kayaba suspension, and Pirelli Scorpion™ Rally STR tyres. I believe this edition will be a hit among off-road enthusiasts due to its robust design and performance capabilities.

Ducati has announced that the Desert Sled Fasthouse will be available in U.S. and Canadian dealerships starting from May 2021, priced at $12,295, which is $300 more than the standard Desert Sled. The bike retains all the characteristic elements of the Ducati “Land of Joy” Desert Sled models, including a tubular steel Trellis frame and high mudguards. I think the slight price increase is justified given the exclusive design and limited production run.

Alongside the launch of the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse, a capsule collection of apparel has been introduced. This collection includes a short-sleeved t-shirt, long-sleeved t-shirt, jacket, and cap, all made from high-quality fabrics. The apparel will be available from the end of April on Fasthouses sales channels, Ducati network dealers, and the Ducati Online Shop. I believe this collaboration will appeal to fans who want to match their bikes style with their clothing.

The Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse features several unique design elements, including a Ducati Red frame with an aluminium plate bearing the bikes number within the limited series, making each unit unique. The bike also has black spoked wheels and a saddle with non-slip coating to maintain a seat height of 860 mm. I think these details add a touch of exclusivity and practicality to the bike.

The collaboration between Ducati and Fasthouse extends beyond the bike itself, with the presentation of the Desert Sled Fasthouse model being done by Jason Chinnock, CEO of Ducati North America, and Kenny Alexander, founder and president of Fasthouse. This partnership highlights the synergy between the two brands in celebrating off-road racing victories. I believe this partnership will strengthen both brands presence in the off-road community.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 06:17 PM
The mileage of the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled Fasthouse in India can vary significantly depending on the riding conditions. On average, you can expect around 20-25 kml in mixed city and highway riding. However, this figure can drop to around 15-18 kml if you are frequently riding off-road or in heavy traffic conditions. The air-cooled engine, while smooth and powerful, does not offer the same level of fuel efficiency as some of its liquid-cooled counterparts. Nonetheless, for a bike of its category and performance, the Desert Sleds mileage is reasonable. Its important to note that regular maintenance and proper riding techniques can help optimize fuel efficiency. Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
