Bajaj Pulsar NS180
General information and overview
The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is a robust and feature-rich motorcycle designed to cater to the needs of Indian riders. It boasts a 178.6cc BS-IV compliant engine that produces 17.02 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and 14.22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm, mated to a five-speed gearbox. The bike features a semi-digital instrument cluster, LED tail light, and tubeless tyres. Its suspension includes telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear, providing a smooth ride. The Pulsar 180 also comes with disc brakes on both ends, although it lacks ABS. The bikes ergonomic design, including its split seat and well-positioned handlebars, ensures comfort during long rides. With its attractive design, good performance, and decent fuel efficiency, the Pulsar 180 was an ideal choice for those seeking a premium commuter bike in India.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Bajaj Pulsar 180, although discontinued in April 2022, remains a notable contender in the Indian motorcycle market for its blend of performance, design, and practicality. I appreciate its edgy design, which has been a hallmark of the Pulsar series, and the wolf-eye pilot lamps that add to its aggressive stance. The bikes BS-IV compliant 178.6cc engine delivers a respectable 17.02 PS of power and 14.22 Nm of torque, making it suitable for both city commuting and occasional long rides. However, the absence of ABS, even as an option, is a significant drawback. The ride quality, thanks to the telescopic forks and gas-charged Nitrox shock absorbers, is commendable, but the build quality and fit-and-finish could be improved. Overall, its a solid choice for those seeking a powerful and stylish commuter, but potential buyers should weigh the lack of safety features against its performance and design.
Recent news and announcements

- Vehicle Overview
- Bajaj Pulsar NS180 is an expected model from the company that could carry an updated engine from the DTS-i Pulsar series. It could bridge the gap between NS150 and NS200 and rival strictly the Apache series with same engine configurations. The 178.9cc, single cylinder engine is expected to produce around 19-20 BHP and 16-17 Nm of torque in its updated form. It could carry forward the 5-speed gearbox from the 150cc Pulsar. The model may not enter production if the 2017 Pulsar NS200 comes at an attractive price point.

Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Bajaj Pulsar NS180
Keeping its promise alive, Bajaj has showcased a lot of production models for the Pulsar family. After the success of the 200 NS and the sure shot details of the 150 NS, a thought occurred about the existence of 180 NS in millions of minds.
Keeping its promise alive, Bajaj has showcased a lot of production models for the Pulsar family. After the success of the 200 NS and the sure shot details of the 150 NS, a thought occurred about the existence of 180 NS in millions of minds.
If ever seen, it will feature the same naked sport attitude that its elder 200 NS is seen with. A 180 cc newer version with more power will be used as the same trend follows in the lower 150 cc and the upper 200 cc segment. It will act as a balance maker between the economy 150 field and the sport 200 field.
The same suspension would be used on the expected 150 NS as Bajaj has been using the same suspension on its all models of the same linings. Telescopic forks at the front and the monoshock rear suspension. Disc brake on the front would be sure in case it arrives but the rear has no assurance of the disc.
Color options may vary with the trend of the launch time and most probably dual tone will be expected and a single variant will be launched. Expected price is around 85,000 INR.
