Debuted at EICMA 2016, the Aprilia Shiver 900 is the more sophisticated replacement to Shiver 750. With a new twin-cylinder engine at its heart, the naked street fighter Aprilia Shiver 900 offers splendid performance as well as better rideability to get ahead in the game. It competes in the market with the likes of Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900 and Yamaha MT-09 and is available in a single color shade- Black/Silver.
Coming to the engine specifications, the Aprilia Shiver 900 is powered by a 896.1 cc, Aprilia V90 Longitudinal 90° V-twin engine, 4-stroke, liquid cooled, double overhead camshaft with mixed gear/chain timing system, four valves per cylinder engine capable of producing a maximum power of 95.2 HP @ 8750 rpm and an utmost torque of 90 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to 6-speed transmission box. In terms of braking system, it gets 240 mm stainless steel disc brakes with a Single piston caliper at the front while the rear gets 240 mm stainless steel disc brake with a Single piston calliper. The addition of ABS is a plus enabling the rider to handle the bike well while braking without getting it locked out. The suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm upside down forks with adjustable hydraulic rebound damping and spring preload at the front and the rear wheel gets Aluminium alloy swingarm with stiffening truss + hydraulic shock absorber with adjustable extension and spring preload.
The all-digital instrument console with every update and latest technology is bound to offer a better display of ratios. The instrument console’s background color changes in order to optimize the visibility in different light conditions. The twin cylinder engine highlights the aggressive nature of the bike and gives sit a sporty stance while the distinctive design of exhaust and saddle is worth appreciating on the road. The refurbished new mudguard and fuel tank cover with the tail fairing gives it an overall sports bike look. The AMP kit allows you to pair your smartphone to the bike’s instrument panel. The sport, touring and rain are the three riding modes for the ride by wire technology that is supported for an electronics package. The bike will be available for sale through Piaggio group's Motoplex showrooms in India.
