Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CBR150R is a riders delight, especially for those who enjoy the thrill of high-revving engines and agile handling. While it may not excel in low-end torque, making city riding a bit sluggish, it comes alive once it hits the higher RPM range. The bikes power delivery is highly addictive, and its ability to quickly accelerate from 8000 RPM to its redline of 11,700 RPM is nothing short of exhilarating. The handling is superb, with a light and confident feel that inspires you to push harder, especially on open roads. However, the lack of ABS and the hard compound tires that come with most production models are notable drawbacks. Overall, the CBR150R is perfect for those who crave a sports tourer experience with a comfortable riding posture, but it may not be the best choice for commuters seeking low-end grunt.
Price
In India, the Honda CBR150R was priced around Rs. 1,17,000 to Rs. 1,37,665 ex-showroom, depending on the location and the specific variant. On-road prices would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, pushing the total to around Rs. 1,40,000 to Rs. 1,60,000. This premium pricing reflects the bikes performance-oriented features and its positioning in the market as a sports tourer. While it may seem steep compared to some competitors, the CBR150Rs unique blend of high-revving performance and comfortable riding posture justifies the cost for enthusiasts who value these attributes.

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Honda CBR150R Repsol Edition was launched in 2017 as a special edition for that non-India spec CBR that has been given Repsol Livery and is one of the major candidates for the entry level bikes. With a 150 cc engine at its heart, the bike has been equipped with an injection system (PGFM-FI). It is available in the International market in two variants- Standard and Deluxe and competes in the market with the likes of the Yamaha R15 V20 and the KTM Duke 200.

Coming to the engine specifications, the bike is powered by 149.5cc, 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, a liquid-cooling engine capable of producing a maximum power of 16.9 Bhp @ 9000 rpm and an utmost torque of 13.7 Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and has a kerb weight of 135 kgs with a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. The sports bike gets an all-digital instrument console with every latest technology to offer timely ratios.

The nose down-tail up design gives the bike a sharp look while the side fairing has been tweaked to compliment the fuel tank. It gets split LED headlamps and a longer swingarm. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear wheel gets a pro-link suspension. The Honda CBR150R MotoGP gets 276 mm disc brakes at the front and a 220 mm disc brake at the rear.

The bike claims a mileage of 35-45 kmpl combines and a top speed of 135 kmph have made it one of the superior offering from the brand in the entry level. The MotoGP edition Black and Orange shade gives the bike an aggressive look that grabs all the attention on the road.

Great model and I am eagerly awaiting

The Honda CBR150R is a great model and I am eagerly awaiting the launch of the CBR150R Ex Motion. It looks like a little Harley Davidson, and I'm sure that it will be a winner in the market. I'm a bike lover and a marketing person and I use it for my daily long drives, so I'm looking forward to a 150 cc bike with minimum 45 kmpl and a price tag below 1.50 lakhs. Models like the Honda Unicorn 150, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer etc. will be great options.

Awesome Machine to Ride

I find my CBR150R motorcycle beyond the expectations and it is worth of every single penny I spent. Riding the bike is so much fun and that's the reason I never get bored riding it even after 10 months. Yes, I felt pain in my wrists initially because I was not used to the sitting position but now I am comfortable. It returns me mileage of 40-42 kmpl from which I am satisfied. Like nothing is perfect, it too have some minor problems which I don't consider in front of its good features.

Best Features: Performance and Looks

Pros: Easy to handle, Styling, Performance, Riding posture

Cons: Costly, Old foot pegs, Bad switch gear, No ABS
