About
The Toyota Fortuner is a robust and reliable SUV that has been a staple in the Indian market for over a decade. Built on a traditional ladder frame chassis, it excels off-road and is known for its powerful engines a 2.7-liter petrol and a 2.8-liter diesel, with the latter offering 204 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The Fortuner is available in both manual and automatic transmissions and features a 4x4 system for the diesel variants. While it lacks modern features like advanced infotainment systems and comfort-oriented suspension, it compensates with its rugged build, spacious interior, and strong resale value. The Fortuner is ideal for those who need a vehicle for heavy-duty use, towing, or frequent off-road adventures, rather than for urban commuting. Its reliability and durability make it a favorite among buyers who prioritize these aspects over contemporary comforts and features.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Toyota Fortuner, even in its anniversary edition, presents a mixed bag for potential buyers in India. On one hand, it is renowned for its reliability, durability, and off-road capabilities, making it a favorite among those who value a rugged and long-lasting vehicle. However, it falls short in several key areas, such as the lack of modern features like a panoramic sunroof, 360 parking camera, and advanced infotainment systems, which are now standard in many of its competitors. The ride quality, particularly on smooth roads, can be choppy due to its body-on-frame layout, and the engine, while powerful, is noisy and lacks refinement. Despite these drawbacks, the Fortuners handling and driving feel are commendable, especially for a vehicle of its size and weight. Ultimately, it is a solid choice for those prioritizing reliability and off-road prowess over urban comfort and modern amenities.
Price
The Toyota Fortuner in India is priced competitively but remains on the higher side of the segment. The ex-showroom prices start from around Rs 27.8 lakh and can go up to Rs 33.6 lakh for the top variants in Delhi. When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes, registration, and insurance, the prices can escalate significantly, often crossing the Rs 40 lakh mark. While this makes the Fortuner one of the more expensive options in its class, its strong resale value and the reputation for being a long-lasting vehicle can justify the cost for many buyers. However, the price gap between the Fortuner and some of its competitors, such as the Ford Endeavour or the Isuzu MU-X, might make some buyers think twice, especially if they are looking for more features and a smoother ride.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 02:21 PM
The mileage of the Toyota Fortuner in India is a concern, especially for those looking to minimize running costs. The diesel variant, which is the more popular choice, returns around 6.8 km per liter, which is relatively poor compared to some of its competitors. In the NCR region, where diesel vehicles face additional restrictions, the petrol variants fuel efficiency is even worse, making it less economical for daily use. This makes the Fortuner less appealing for those who prioritize fuel efficiency and lower running costs.

Toyota Fortuner Anniversary Edition Discussion
Wat the f*** car is this
dont take this car, even take safari lowest model
but this beep car, I recomend u for aria, endeavour, crv and captiva but no fortuner f***
Hey if ur planning to buy an suv i suggest u to go with 'FORTUNER' the king of suv's rather than going for captiva or aria or crv or endeavour. ITS all waste in front of fortuner looks, if i say about fortuner its superb but the only drawback is manual transmission and if u have heard about brake problem its all solved now.
Exterior and interior of Toyota Fortuner Anniversary Edition is too good.
Guys it's absolutely superb. I love it.
