Mahindra has renamed the BE 6 as the BE 6 Sporteq and launched a revised electric-SUV range priced from ₹19.45 lakh to ₹26.95 lakh ex-showroom with the battery included. The update adds a 70kWh middle battery option, revises the variant ladder and introduces a triple-screen dashboard on higher variants. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on August 26, 2026.

What you need to know

  • The BE 6 name now becomes BE 6 Sporteq.

  • Battery-inclusive prices run from ₹19.45 lakh to ₹26.95 lakh ex-showroom.

  • Battery choices are 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh.

  • Battery-as-a-Service pricing starts at ₹11.45 lakh, with separate battery charges.

  • Customer deliveries are stated to start on August 26.

BE 6 Sporteq battery and range options

The revised range offers three battery sizes. Mahindra claims MIDC driving ranges of 548km for the 59kWh battery, 651km for the new 70kWh option and 683km for the 79kWh version. These are certification-cycle figures; real-world range will vary with speed, weather, traffic, driving style, load and climate-control use.

The 70kWh battery is the notable addition because it creates a middle step between the entry pack and the longest-range version. Buyers should compare usable range, charging time, equipment and price rather than selecting only by battery capacity.

Standard prices and BaaS are different

The headline ₹19.45 lakh starting price is the standard ex-showroom price for the 59kWh ONE variant with the battery included. At the other end, the battery-inclusive range reaches ₹26.95 lakh.

Mahindra also lists Battery-as-a-Service pricing from ₹11.45 lakh for the 59kWh ONE. Under the reported plan, the battery subscription is charged separately at ₹3.75 per kilometre and is tied to stated usage and loan assumptions. The lower upfront figure must not be compared directly with a conventional battery-inclusive price.

Anyone considering BaaS should calculate expected monthly kilometres, finance tenure, battery charges, insurance and resale implications. A plan that reduces the initial purchase amount can still produce a different total ownership cost depending on use.

What changes inside?

Higher Sporteq variants receive a redesigned dashboard with three 12.3-inch displays. The layout broadens the screen area across the cabin and is one of the most visible changes accompanying the revised range.

Equipment availability will depend on the selected variant, so buyers should verify the exact feature list before booking. The Launch Edition also brings Graphite Storm exterior paint and a Full Racing Tan cabin theme.

Is this a new model or an updated BE 6?

Sporteq is the revised identity for the BE 6 range, not an unrelated vehicle. The core story is the renaming plus a reorganised battery, variant and cabin offering. That distinction matters for current owners and shoppers comparing older BE 6 stock with newly listed Sporteq variants.

Potential buyers should check the manufacturing month, battery pack, dashboard specification, software version and warranty documents of any vehicle offered by a dealer.

What buyers should compare

  • Battery-inclusive price versus BaaS upfront and recurring costs.

  • Certified range versus realistic daily-route requirements.

  • Home-charger availability and installation cost.

  • Variant-specific safety, comfort and display equipment.

  • Delivery timing and the manufacturing date of available stock.

  • Battery, vehicle and roadside-assistance warranty terms.

Bottom line

The Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq update creates a broader battery ladder and a clearer technology-focused identity, while retaining an entry battery-inclusive price close to ₹19.45 lakh. The new 70kWh option may be the most interesting addition for buyers balancing range and cost.

BaaS can lower the advertised upfront figure, but it is a separate ownership model rather than a simple discount. Buyers should compare the full payment structure and exact variant equipment before deciding.
