Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Nexon EV, particularly the updated 45kWh variant, is a significant step forward in Tatas electric vehicle lineup. My experience with this car has been overwhelmingly positive, especially considering its enhanced range and performance. The new 45kWh battery pack, which is 15 percent more energy-dense than its predecessor, offers a claimed range of 489km, although real-world tests indicate a more realistic range of around 350-370km. This is more than sufficient for most city and occasional highway use. The addition of a panoramic sunroof and improved charging times (48 minutes from 10-80) are welcome features. However, some users have reported minor technical glitches, which Tata needs to address to improve overall reliability. Despite these minor issues, the Nexon EV remains a compelling choice for those looking for an affordable, practical, and feature-rich electric SUV in India.
Price
The Tata Nexon EV, especially the 45kWh variant, is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for the top-of-the-line Nexon EV 45 starts around 18.5 lakhs, although prices can vary slightly depending on the state and local taxes. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, can range from 20 lakhs to 22 lakhs. Given its features, performance, and the significant cost savings on fuel and maintenance compared to traditional petrol or diesel vehicles, the Nexon EV offers excellent value for money. It is particularly attractive for those who prioritize affordability without compromising on the essential features and performance of an electric SUV.

Discussions and Questions Tata Nexon EV
Does the extra price of the XUV400 over the Tata Nexon EV justify its performance?
02 January 2025 05:54
It is great performance but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference. Tata has a little more experience in the EV game and Mahindra is still new. The Nexon would make me feel safer.
Is the Tata Nexon EV all that it’s hyped to be, or is it just jumping the bandwagon on EVs?
22 October 2024 13:13
Of all the EVs in India (and there aren’t many), honestly, I think the Nexon EV deserves most of the hype. It is not perfect, but as an all around solid entry for anyone looking to go electric without spending the bank, its a solid choice. It’s not a bad range for a city car, and Tata is beefing up the charging infrastructure. Plus, they’ve got that SUV look to it which everyone seems to be crazy about nowadays.
