About
The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel Automatic is a well-rounded sedan that excels in several key areas. The 1.6-litre diesel engine is powerful and smooth, providing excellent acceleration and a comfortable driving experience. The automatic gearbox, while not the most modern, offers smooth and effortless gear shifts. The car boasts a spacious and premium interior, with features like ventilated front seats, electronic ORVMs, and a robust air-conditioning system. The ride quality is enhanced by a decent suspension setup, making it suitable for both city and highway driving. However, some users have noted issues like rear seat space being limited and a float-like feeling at high speeds. Overall, the Vernas reliability, performance, and comfort make it a strong contender in its segment, even in the used car market.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel Automatic is a compelling choice in the C-segment sedan market in India, particularly for those who value a balance of performance, comfort, and reliability. The 1.6-litre diesel engine, producing 125 hp and 250 Nm of torque, is notably powerful and smooth, making it a joy to drive both in city traffic and on highways. The automatic gearbox, although a 4-speed torque converter, offers seamless shifts and ease of use, though it may not be the most fuel-efficient option. The cars ride quality is commendable, with improved suspension that handles uneven roads well, although some users have noted a float-like feeling at high speeds. Overall, the Vernas silent and vibration-less engine, comfortable seating, and robust build quality make it a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and powerful sedan.

The new Hyundai Verna, launched in 2023, does not come with a diesel engine option, marking a significant change from its predecessors. This decision is part of the industrys shift away from diesel engines. I believe this change might affect the cars appeal to those who prefer diesel for better fuel efficiency.

Hyundais sales strategy for the new Verna focuses on petrol engines, which might affect sales in regions where diesel is more popular. The company needs to adapt its marketing to emphasize the benefits of the new petrol engines to attract former diesel customers. I believe a strong marketing campaign could help mitigate the impact.

Pre-bookings for the 2017 Hyundai Verna started at Hyundai dealerships across India, with the launch scheduled for August 22, 2017. The new Verna was expected to compete strongly against rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Honda City, but the absence of a diesel automatic could be a drawback.

The next generation Hyundai Verna was spotted testing in Spain, indicating that the car was undergoing rigorous testing before its Indian launch. Verna 1.6 Sx Diesel EPS system not durable
A K Gupta | 2 years ago
helpful 4
I have purchased Verna 1.6 Sx Diesel car in 10/2013. The car has run only 34300 km and it’s EPS system fails. I send concern to Hyundai customer care but their response is very negative. We have another vehicle with EPS which run more than lack km but no problem occurs in EPS. Finally, I have to replace on payment. But now I am in impression to switch to other Car make.
Best Features: Spacious and big boot space.
Pros: Car is good but after warranty it’s not reliable
Cons: EPS system of car is not up to mark.I have to replace my car EPS in 34500 km. No support from Hyundai customer care. Response from company is not appreciable.
