2023 Hyundai Verna Detailed Review
Overview
The 2023 Hyundai Verna is a subcompact sedan that has been completely redesigned for the new model year. It features a more modern and stylish exterior, a spacious and comfortable interior, and a long list of standard features.
The Hyundai Verna has always been a popular sedan, but it had some flaws that kept it from being an all-rounder. The new generation Verna addresses these flaws and is now a more balanced sedan. However, in doing so, Hyundai may have had to make some compromises.
Hyundai is aiming to double the sales of the new Verna compared to the previous generation. The sixth-generation Verna is bigger, more modern, feature-packed, and technologically advanced than its predecessor.
Exterior of 2023 Hyundai Verna
The all-new Hyundai Verna is a feast for the eyes. The front horizon LED positioning lamp is a work of art, and it positively gleams in the sunlight. The fastback design gives the Verna a sleek and aerodynamic profile, and the parametric connected LED tail lamps are a stunning finish. The Verna's exterior design is a bold and confident statement, and it's sure to turn heads wherever it goes.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna has a design that is sure to divide opinion. Some people love its stylish and modern exterior, while others find it to be too polarizing. The Verna is inspired by the US-spec Elantra, and it certainly has a unique look that will turn heads wherever it goes.
The front end features a wide cascading grille, swept-back headlights, and a sculpted bumper. The front end features a sleek LED strip running across the nose, while the headlamps are placed lower down the grille. The side profile is characterized by a fastback roofline and three character lines that meet at one point on the rear door. The rear end is dominated by a large LED tail light cluster.
The 2023 Verna is available in 7 monotone and 2 dual tone color options. Starry Night, Tellurian Brown, Atlas White, Abyss Black, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, and Titan Grey are monotones. The Fiery Red Dual Tone and Atlas White Dual Tone are the dual tone color options.
Interior of 2023 Hyundai Verna
The interior of the new Hyundai Verna is stylish and contemporary, with a focus on comfort and amenities. The cabin is roomy, with ample leg and headroom for both front and rear passengers. The seats are supportive and comfy, and the materials utilized throughout the cabin are of excellent quality. The Verna also comes with a variety of features that make it a comfortable and convenient place to be, such as a sunroof, a premium sound system, and a variety of USB ports and charging stations. Overall, the interior of the new Hyundai Verna is a great place to spend time, whether you're driving around town or taking a long road trip.
The Verna comes with a long list of features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 64-color ambient lighting system, heated and cooled front seats, and a wireless charging pad. The Verna also comes standard with six airbags, making it one of the safest cars in its class.
One of the highlights of the Verna's interior is its ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features. These features include lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. These features can help to keep you safe on the road, and they are a welcome addition to the Verna's long list of features.
Overall, the interior of the all-new Hyundai Verna is a comfortable and feature-rich space. It is sure to please drivers who are looking for a stylish and modern sedan with plenty of features.
Engine and Gearbox of 2023 Hyundai Verna
The new Hyundai Verna is available with two petrol engines: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. The naturally aspirated engine is more refined and offers a smooth and linear power delivery. It is well-suited for city driving and provides decent fuel economy. The turbocharged engine is more powerful and offers better performance. It is a good choice for those who want a more engaging driving experience.
The naturally aspirated engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission, while the turbocharged engine is available with either a CVT or a 6-speed manual transmission. The CVT automatic transmission is smooth and seamless, while the manual transmission offers more control over the driving experience.
The Verna has a firm yet comfortable ride, which means that it is not too bouncy or jarring, even on rough roads. This is due to the car's suspension system, which is designed to absorb bumps and provide a smooth ride. The steering is also well-weighted, which means that it is not too light or too heavy. This makes it easy to control the car, even at high speeds. The Verna is also stable at high speeds, which means that it does not sway or wander from side to side. This makes it a safe and comfortable car to drive on the highway.
2023 Hyundai Verna Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
The new Hyundai Verna has retained its comfortable ride from the previous generation. It is well-cushioned and quiet over speed breakers and broken roads in the city. However, as the speeds increase, the bumps do start to get more evident and you may feel the need for better damping. On highways, the sedan remains largely stable, though rear seat passengers may feel some movement.
The Verna is a fairly easy sedan to drive, thanks to its large glass area and light steering. The acceleration is predictable in all the drive modes (Eco, Normal, and Sport).
The Verna's suspension consists of McPherson struts with coil springs in the front and a coupled torsion beam axle in the rear. The brakes are discs in the front and drums in the rear, except for the SX(O) Turbo DCT, which has discs in the rear as well. The tires are 185/65 R15 steel in the rear and 205/55 R16 diamond-cut alloy in the front for the EX and S trims, and 205/55 R16 black alloy in the front and rear for the Turbo trim. The spare tire is a 185/65 R15 steel. All tires are tubeless.

User Reviews for Hyundai Verna
A Brilliant Package
I am using this car from the past 2 years and I am fully satisfied with my beauty. It is simply amazing and has a very strong appeal and is surely a head-turner. The look and feel is classy as it has a pinch of both chrome and wood. The black and beige interiors offers a plush look to the interiors. The leg space is quite sufficient both for the front and back seat. It gives a mileage of 11-13 kmpl. However since my average driving is around 18 km per day, a fuel tank can last close to a month. The ride quality is fantastic and during this time I have been an avid Hyundai fan. My first car was a Santro Xing. Thereafter upgraded to i10, i20 and now Verna. I never had any issue either with the servicing or with the engine. The only drawback is the adequate underthigh support for the back seats as the seats are quite small and also uncomfortable for long rides.
Best Features: Economical & Great Pick-up
Pros: Spacious, looks & style, outstanding mileage, economical, large service networks, great pick up
Cons: Inadequate underthigh support for back seat
