Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel

About
The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel is a C-segment sedan that was popular for its performance and features during its production run from 2015 to 2016. The 1.6-litre diesel engine produces 125 hp and 250 Nm of torque, making it one of the most powerful cars in its segment. It comes with a six-speed manual gearbox that is smooth and responsive, enhancing the driving experience. The car is known for its quiet operation and good sound insulation, even at high speeds. However, it has some drawbacks such as weak body materials and less comfortable rear seats. The ride quality is generally good, especially at lower speeds, but can feel unstable at very high speeds. Overall, it is a solid choice for those looking for a powerful and comfortable sedan, but with some caveats regarding build quality and rear seat comfort.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel, particularly the 1.6 Diesel engine variant, is a mixed bag of impressive performance and some notable drawbacks. On the positive side, this car is a powerhouse with excellent pickup and silent operation, making it a joy to drive, especially on highways. The engines effortless performance even at high speeds is commendable, and the smooth gearbox adds to the driving pleasure. However, there are significant issues such as the weak body material and bumpers, which can be a concern in minor accidents. Additionally, the rear seats are not very comfortable, and the clutch can become harder over time, requiring frequent replacements. Despite these issues, the overall driving experience is comfortable and relaxed, making it a viable option for those prioritizing performance and comfort.
Price
The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel, which was available from 2015 to 2016, had an ex-showroom price ranging from approximately 9.5 lakhs to 12.5 lakhs, depending on the trim level. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, would have been around 11 lakhs to 15 lakhs. While this model is no longer in production, understanding its historical pricing can give insight into the value for money it offered during its time. For those considering purchasing a used model, prices would vary based on the cars condition, mileage, and location, but generally, you could expect to pay between 6 lakhs to 10 lakhs.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 22 March 2023 04:10 PM The latest generation of the Hyundai Verna has been launched without a diesel engine option. This marks a significant shift as the previous models had a diesel variant. The new Verna is now available only with petrol engines, which might affect its appeal to those who prefer diesel for better mileage. I believe this change could impact sales in regions where diesel cars are more popular.
Wednesday, 15 February 2023 07:37 AM Hyundai has discontinued the diesel version of the Verna in India, aligning with the market trend that is increasingly favoring petrol and hybrid vehicles. This decision reflects the companys strategy to adapt to changing consumer preferences and regulatory environments. I think this move is a smart step towards a more sustainable and efficient vehicle lineup.
Friday, 20 January 2023 10:05 AM The absence of a diesel engine in the new Hyundai Verna has led to some concerns about its market share. While the petrol engines are powerful and efficient, some buyers still prefer diesel for its perceived better fuel economy. I believe Hyundai needs to consider the diverse needs of Indian buyers to maintain its competitive edge.
Saturday, 10 December 2022 10:34 AM Hyundai has clarified that there are no plans to revive the diesel variant of the Verna in the near future. The company is focusing on its petrol and hybrid offerings, which are seen as more viable options given current market conditions. I think this decision is in line with the global trend of moving away from diesel engines.
Friday, 25 November 2022 01:04 PM The decision to not offer a diesel variant for the Hyundai Verna has had a mixed impact on sales. While some buyers have adapted to the petrol options, others have opted for competitors that still offer diesel engines. I believe Hyundai needs to balance its product lineup to cater to a broader range of customer preferences.
Saturday, 15 October 2022 02:04 PM Customer feedback suggests that some buyers are missing the diesel option in the new Hyundai Verna. Despite the advanced features and performance of the petrol engines, there is still a segment of buyers who prefer diesel for its long-term cost benefits. I think Hyundai should consider this feedback for future product planning.
Tuesday, 20 September 2022 09:14 AM There is ongoing speculation in the market about whether Hyundai might reconsider introducing a diesel variant for the Verna in the future. However, no official statement has been made by the company. I believe that if market demand persists, Hyundai might need to revisit this decision.
Thursday, 11 August 2022 01:00 AM Hyundais focus on advanced petrol engines and hybrid technology has somewhat mitigated the need for a diesel variant. The new engines offer better performance and efficiency, making the absence of a diesel option less noticeable. I think this technological advancement is a positive step for the industry.
Saturday, 16 July 2022 12:03 AM The regulatory environment in India, with stricter emission norms, has contributed to the phase-out of diesel engines in many models, including the Hyundai Verna. This shift is part of a broader industry trend towards cleaner and more efficient vehicles. I believe this is a necessary step towards a more sustainable automotive sector.
Tuesday, 22 August 2017 02:13 PM Hyundai has decided not to introduce the mild hybrid version of the Verna in India due to unfavorable GST rates, which have increased to 43%. This decision also implies that the diesel variant of the Verna, which was once popular, will not be part of the new lineup. I think this move might disappoint some loyal customers who preferred the diesel option for its fuel efficiency.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 01:11 AM The Hyundai Verna Fluidic Diesel offers respectable fuel economy, with city mileage around 12-15 kmpl and highway mileage up to 16-18 kmpl, depending on driving conditions. This makes it a relatively fuel-efficient option for both city and highway driving, which is a crucial factor for many buyers in India concerned about running costs.

Verna 1.6 Sx Diesel EPS system not durable

A K Gupta | 2 years ago
helpful 4

I have purchased Verna 1.6 Sx Diesel car in 10/2013. The car has run only 34300 km and it’s EPS system fails. I send concern to Hyundai customer care but their response is very negative. We have another vehicle with EPS which run more than lack km but no problem occurs in EPS. Finally, I have to replace on payment. But now I am in impression to switch to other Car make.

Best Features: Spacious and big boot space.

Pros: Car is good but after warranty it’s not reliable

Cons: EPS system of car is not up to mark.I have to replace my car EPS in 34500 km. No support from Hyundai customer care. Response from company is not appreciable.
