About
The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) is a 7-seater MPV that features a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, producing 99 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and offers a spacious interior, although the third row is more suited for children. The vehicle has a ground clearance of 189 mm and a boot space that expands significantly when the third row is folded. The engine is known for its fuel efficiency and linear acceleration, making it suitable for city and highway driving. However, it lacks the punch needed for quick overtaking on highways. The Mobilio also features a well-calibrated steering system and a suspension that provides a smooth ride at higher speeds, but its build quality and interior materials are areas that need improvement. Despite its discontinuation, the Mobilio remains a practical choice for those seeking a fuel-efficient and spacious MPV.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) is a practical and fuel-efficient MPV, but it falls short in several key areas. While it boasts a robust 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine, which is well-suited for city driving and offers good fuel economy, the vehicles interior and build quality are somewhat lacking. The dashboard design is basic, and the use of cheap plastics is noticeable. Additionally, the third row seats are not very comfortable, especially for adults. However, the cars suspension provides a compliant ride quality, and the well-calibrated steering makes it easy to handle. Despite these positives, the Mobilios overall value proposition is weakened by its cost-cutting measures and limited features, making it a less compelling choice compared to its competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
Price
The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) was priced around 12.33 lakh ex-showroom when it was available in the market. However, since the model has been discontinued, current prices would be relevant only for used car purchases. On the used car market, prices can vary widely depending on the condition, mileage, and location of the vehicle. Generally, you might expect to pay between 8 to 11 lakh for a well-maintained used Mobilio Diesel V (O). Its crucial to factor in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and any necessary repairs when calculating the total on-road price.

Honda has officially discontinued the Mobilio in India, including the Diesel V (O) variant, due to poor sales and increasing competition in the MPV segment. The company has removed the model from its official website and has stopped production. I think this move was inevitable given the declining sales figures.

The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) was known for its spacious interior and robust 1.5L i-DTEC engine, producing 99 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. However, its higher price point compared to competitors like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga made it less appealing to buyers. I believe the pricing strategy was a significant factor in its decline.

In an effort to revamp the Mobilio, Honda had introduced a facelift in Indonesia, which included cosmetic changes and some feature updates. However, this did not translate to significant sales improvements in India for the Diesel V (O) variant. It seems the updates were not enough to compete with newer models.
Saturday, 10 September 2016 01:23 PM
The Mobilio Diesel V (O) came with a range of safety features, including a seat belt warning, engine immobilizer, central locking, and child safety locks. Despite these features, the vehicle failed to gain traction in the market. I think safety features alone were not enough to sway buyers.

Honda had launched the Mobilio with great fanfare in July 2014, and it initially saw strong sales, even topping the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga in August 2014. However, the Diesel V (O) variants sales gradually declined over the years. Its clear that initial success did not sustain.
Friday, 20 June 2014 05:39 AM
The Mobilio Diesel V (O) had a fuel tank capacity of 42 liters and offered a mileage of 24.2 kmpl, which was competitive in its segment. However, other factors such as pricing and competition from newer models impacted its sales. I think the fuel efficiency was one of its stronger points.

The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) was part of a lineup that included various trim levels, each with its own set of features. The V (O) was one of the top models, offering additional features like remote central locking and a more premium interior. Despite this, it failed to attract long-term buyers.

When launched, the Mobilio Diesel V (O) was praised for its spacious cabin and the Man maximum, machine minimum philosophy, which emphasized passenger comfort. However, over time, the lack of significant updates and competitive pricing led to its decline. I believe the initial design was a strong point, but it wasnt enough.
Saturday, 15 March 2014 01:14 PM
The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) was built on the extended Brio platform, offering a 7-seater configuration and a ground clearance of 189 mm. While these specs were appealing, they were not enough to sustain market interest. It seems the market preferences shifted towards other options.
Thursday, 20 February 2014 12:46 AM
Honda had placed significant bets on the Mobilio, including the Diesel V (O) variant, to compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova. However, the vehicles higher pricing and lack of periodic updates led to its eventual discontinuation. I think Honda underestimated the competition.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 02:33 PM
The Honda Mobilio Diesel V (O) offers impressive fuel economy, with an ARAI-certified mileage of 24.5 kmpl. In real-world conditions, users have reported mileage ranging from 15 to 19 kmpl in city driving and up to 22-28 kmpl on highways, depending on driving conditions and speed.
