Yamaha is one of the most famous and appreciated manufacturer of motor bikes. It was founded on October 12, 1887 and the headquarters is located in Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan. The new Yamaha SR400 is a legendary classic motor cycle with a retro 1970s styling. The motorcycle offers endless possibilities to create it your own style, be it either a street scrambler or a racer. The commuter has been launched in US and UK. But there is no information about the launch in India; it is in speculations that it will be launched in India too.
Design and Style
Yamaha SR400 comes with a length of 2085 mm, width of 749 mm and a height of 1094 mm as its dimensions. It has a semi-double cradle frame chassis which gives it a slimmer look and the low sitting offers the natural riding position. The chrome intensive new Yamaha SR400 looks very much classic. There was no electric start available for the motorcycle like others; it goes well with a kick start.

Engine and Gearbox
Yamaha SR400 is powered by a399 cc, air-cooled, two valve, single cylinder, SOHC engine which generates a 23 bhp of power at 6,500 rpm and a torque of 27.4 Nm at 3,000 rpm. The engine is mated with a 5 speed manual gearbox and a multi plate clutch system.
