Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha R15 V4 Metallic Red is a compelling choice for young enthusiasts and sport bike lovers. It offers a perfect blend of style, performance, and technology in the 150cc segment. The bike's strengths lie in its sharp handling, smooth and powerful engine with VVA technology, and premium features like LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity. This motorcycle is best suited for riders who prioritize performance and sporty aesthetics over comfort and practicality. It's an excellent option for daily commutes and weekend rides, especially for those who enjoy spirited riding on twisty roads. However, potential buyers should consider the relatively high price tag, firm ride quality, and limited pillion comfort. The aggressive riding position might not be suitable for long-distance touring or riders with back issues

Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |

Yamaha R15 V4 Metallic Red Review
Overview
So moving on to the Yamaha R15 V4 in Metallic Red. Yamaha’s signature style and performance come together into this bike, and a color as bold as it is refined. This sleek, almost magnetic appeal comes from its Metallic Red. Of course, it’s a bike that is going to get you stared at when you stop at a light, but not in a screaming for attention type of way. If you’re after a bike that takes everyday practicality and offers a sporty edge, then hopefully you've found a match.
Engine & Performance
Yamaha pushes as much capacity as possible into each of the cubic centimeters of the R15 v4’s 155cc single cylinder engine. But at about 18.4 horsepower, it’s no race track monster — more than capable for the city streets and some weekend adventure. The pull when I hit the throttle is smooth — a grin. It won’t make you offset but it just has enough kick in it so it will leave you feeling ‘let’s go’.
Yamaha’s Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) is what really sets this engine apart. It’s like giving the bike two personalities: Bright for when you’re just cruising or a bit more of a thump when you want to enjoy some fun. I think this feature is a game changer personally. Live in a city and the bike becomes easygoing, smooth and manageable. It’s like the bike is saying, 'Alright, let’s go!' but when I take it out on the open roads, the VVA reacts to increase that boost.
Handling & Suspension
The handling was that good that I'm unsure it wasn't a little too good, but at no point did it terribly too sloppy to make your hands go scratching for the hands controls, a very prevalent trait of bikes that are either completely smooth or have nowhere near enough feel. It’s a nimble, sharp R15 V4 as if it knows what you’re getting up to ahead of you. The bike is light enough for its frame to glide through traffic, and in a twisty road, it will keep you on a bend. I’ve tried this in busy traffic on the streets and on some back roads, and it just feels incredibly responsive, kind of like you’re in sync with it.
Telescopic front forks and a linked type rear to keep the ride balanced, the suspension setup is kept. It’s firm enough to be sporty, but it doesn’t feel every crack in the road. This setup is set up to absorb just enough to keep grass on the city streets smooth without giving up that sporty edge for anyone worried about rough spots.
What You Need to Know About Braking & Safety Features
Control is all you have on a bike like this so let’s talk brakes. The Yamaha went with both wheels verse disc brakes, and they’re as responsive as they are reliable. When you brake hard, you don’t get that jerky feeling—you get a smooth controlled stop. And that’s a feature that really matters if you’re in city traffic, or on roads you don’t know.
So it's when you’ll use the dual channel ABS. When you’ve had to brake quickly on a slick road, you know how important ABS is. You get that extra layer of stability versus a bike that’s kind of just trying to take over with the R15 V4. For me this has to be, as you are riding in mixed weather. That provides peace of mind but doesn’t interfere with the experience.
Design & Style
Let’s be honest though, the Metallic Red is a real showstopper; now, let’s dig into the look. This color just fits in with a more aggressive looking yamaha design. It looks race inspired and it got that look for aero reasons too, as well as fairing doses. The R15 V4 isn’t just pretty, it was built to cut through the air.
It’s got bright and sharp LED headlights for night rides. Practical visibility meanwhile; adds to the bike’s intense look. Don’t forget the digital instrument cluster. Reading it is easy — it provides the bare essentials like gear position, fuel level, speed — nothing fancy. It feels so purposeful and polished with everything.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Engine with VVA Tech: Smooth and adaptable power comes from the 155cc engine with VVA tech, general enough for city and roads.
- Responsive Handling: It’s lightweight and balanced so easily maneuvers through traffic or leans into corners.
- Bold Metallic Red Design: Sleek, aggressive design, a color that will stand out without overdoing it.
Cons
- Not Ideal for Long Highway Rides: Visually it's excellent for city and shorter trips, with an 155cc engine that's stretched a touch on more extended, high speed trips.
- Sporty Riding Position: Aggressive seating posture provides style, but on long rides may become uncomfortable if you're an upright seating kind of guy.
Real-World Suitability
R15 V4 in Metallic Red is everyday rideable for the riders who want something both sporty and practical. City commutes are best for it: it’s an easy way to cut through the traffic, and it’s agile enough for quick turns without feeling bulky. And for weekend rides? The punch it has is just the right amount to make things interesting, without feeling overwhelming. Personally, I think that’s the perfect amount of style for riders who aren’t looking for the most comfortable everyday commuter or the fastest weekend escape.
Final Thoughts
If I would recommend Yamaha R15 V4 in Metallic Red? Absolutely. The outcome is a bike that combines the high standards native to Yamaha with a little bit of personality. Charging around in this thing offers a little more than getting from point A to B — it’s a ride that you can get a little excited about. Are you ready to bring a bit of Metallic Red to your daily commute or your next weekend adventure? Turns out, this bike is actually looking right at you directly.

My Journey with R15 V3
It was the year 2018, My Bajaj Pulsar had completed 15 years, so I was looking on the net for a new bike. When I saw it for the first time, an arrow of love went across my heart, although it had some shortcomings, in spite of this, I bought it and thought whatever will happen will be seen, the only drawback was only the headlight and riding position. Today is the month of 2021 September and today I am claiming that there is no match for it. I have taken it on the hills, on the highways, and on the rough village roads, but its performance is amazing, although the riding position is so aggressive that it hurts in the back but the performance is such that this thing is forgivable, I do exercise continuously to keep me fit to ride this beast and that's why I am fit because this bike is for the youth and for long running you must be fit as youth to ride it, so today I am also fit because of it, thank you for this. Good mileage, superior performance, looks, good reliable engine make it a clear winner wherever you go. This is my journey with R15 V3.
