Thursday, 29 August 2024 09:12 AM In a recent DIY project, a 2016 Yamaha R15 V2 underwent a comprehensive overhaul after being in a severely abused condition. The bike, which had run 71,500 kilometers, was found to have significant issues including a mixed coolant and oil problem, known as the forbidden milkshake, and a damaged crankcase. The owner and a mechanic had to disassemble and clean every part before reassembling the engine. This project highlights the challenges and dedication required to restore a heavily damaged motorcycle. I think its impressive how much work went into bringing this bike back to life.
Wednesday, 21 August 2024 10:50 AM A Yamaha R15 V2 owner shared their experience of purchasing a special edition model in 2016. Despite the initial difficulty in finding the desired Streaking Cyan color, the owner finally managed to get one from a showroom in Mysore. The bike has been praised for its stunning looks, unmatched performance, and great handling. However, issues like loose mirrors and uncomfortable seating were noted. I believe the R15 V2 remains a popular choice for its performance and style.
Tuesday, 01 March 2016 05:00 AM In 2016, Yamaha refreshed the color schemes for the R15 V2, introducing new colors such as Revving Blue, Sparky Green, and Adrenaline Red. This update was part of Yamahas regular color scheme refreshes to keep the model appealing to new buyers. The special edition colors, like Streaking Cyan, were particularly sought after by enthusiasts. I think these color updates helped keep the R15 V2 in the spotlight.
Monday, 15 February 2016 04:49 PM The 2016 Yamaha R15 V2 continued to be known for its butter-smooth, rev-happy engine and excellent handling capabilities. The bikes 150cc liquid-cooled engine produced 16.8 horsepower and 15 Nm of torque, making it a favorite among riders who valued performance and thrill. I believe the R15 V2 set a high standard for 150cc sports bikes in India.
Wednesday, 20 January 2016 07:21 PM Yamaha launched the R15 V2 in India with several advanced features, including a slipper clutch, traction control, and dual-channel ABS. These features made the bike stand out in its segment and appealed to riders looking for a mix of performance and safety. I think these features were a significant step forward for the R15 series.
Sunday, 10 January 2016 07:22 AM The R15 V2 was also praised for its aerodynamic body design and the use of an aluminum swingarm, which reduced unsprung weight and improved handling. The bikes design was inspired by its bigger sibling, the YZF-R6, giving it a sporty and aggressive look. I believe the design updates were a key factor in the bikes popularity.
Sunday, 20 December 2015 12:21 AM In 2016, the Yamaha R15 V2 was available in various color options, including the special edition Streaking Cyan, which was highly sought after by enthusiasts. The bikes pricing started at around Rs. 1.14 lakh, making it an attractive option in the 150cc sports bike segment. I think the pricing was competitive and contributed to its success.
Sunday, 15 November 2015 11:30 AM The 2016 Yamaha R15 V2 featured a fully digital instrument cluster with onboard diagnostics, periodic maintenance reminders, and ride tracking. This level of technology was advanced for its time and added to the bikes appeal. I believe these tech features enhanced the riding experience significantly.
Sunday, 25 October 2015 02:29 PM Yamahas decision to introduce the R15 V2 with a quick shifter in certain variants was seen as a move to enhance the riding experience, especially for track enthusiasts. This feature allowed for clutch-less shifting, making it more convenient and faster to shift gears. I think this was a great addition for performance-oriented riders.
Wednesday, 30 September 2015 03:05 AM The 2016 Yamaha R15 V2 was known for its LED position lights, which added to the bikes visual appeal and provided better visibility on the road. These lights were part of the bikes overall design to give it a commanding appearance despite its compact size. I believe these lights were a nice touch to the bikes aesthetics.

The bike initially had a problem in its ecu unit..which Yamaha first refused to change but then after literally showing them the problem changed the whole unit.Over priced parts for no reason. The brakes are really bad especially the rear one..after every 10,000kms the brakes pads and disc had to be changed. The mileage is really good. A perfect bike for the city with looks and power but its not comfortable at all, the pillion rider cant sit properly and for the rider the position is not right, if you are tall not all suitable. The clutch wire keeps snapping that shows the quality. I recently bought an KTM RC390 which is way better than the services provided by Yamaha and the maintenance is quite cheaper too..its been a year now with the Yamaha R15 V2.0 and id suggest not to buy the bike

Best Features: Looks and performance ... A 149cc touching 138 top speed is really sweet

Pros: Looks sporty and feels smooth. Has good milage.

Cons: Braking system is not good. The instrumental units are too outdated. Needs abs.over priced.
