Yamaha R15 Special Edition (Version 1)

About
The Yamaha R15 Special Edition (Version 1) is a sleek and powerful 150cc sports bike that has garnered a loyal following in India. Powered by a 149.8cc liquid-cooled engine, it produces 17 PS of power and features a 6-speed gearbox, which enhances its performance and ride quality. The bikes delta box frame and mono-shock suspension contribute to its excellent handling and stability, making it a delight for cornering and high-speed riding. The digital console with a white backlight is visually appealing, and the bikes aerodynamic design ensures it stands out on the road. However, its important to note that the rear seat is less comfortable, and maintenance costs can be higher compared to other bikes in its class. Despite these limitations, the R15 V1 remains a top choice for those seeking a blend of style, performance, and handling.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha R15 Special Edition (Version 1) is a standout in the 150cc segment in India, known for its exceptional performance, handling, and styling. From my experience, this bike excels in terms of agility and cornering, making it a joy to ride, especially for enthusiasts who love the thrill of tight corners and swift acceleration. The 150cc engine, though not the most powerful, delivers a smooth and refined ride, with a top speed that can easily touch 145 kmph on long stretches. However, the bikes rear seat comfort is a significant drawback, and the headlight performance, particularly at night, leaves much to be desired. Despite these cons, the R15 V1 remains a favorite among bikers for its overall package of performance, looks, and handling.
Price
The price of the Yamaha R15 Special Edition (Version 1) in India, although it is no longer in production, can be gauged from its historical context. When it was available, the ex-showroom price was around 1.1 lakh to 1.2 lakh, depending on the region and any special edition features. On-road prices would have been slightly higher, typically ranging from 1.3 lakh to 1.4 lakh, including registration, insurance, and other costs. For those looking to purchase a used model, prices can vary widely based on the bikes condition, mileage, and location, but you can expect to pay anywhere from 60,000 to 90,000.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:05 PM The Yamaha R15 Special Edition (Version 1) offers surprisingly efficient mileage considering its performance-oriented nature. You can expect around 40 kmlitre in city riding conditions and approximately 36-37 kmlitre on highways, especially when riding at constant high speeds. This makes it a relatively economical choice for daily commuting and occasional long rides, helping to balance out the higher maintenance costs associated with this bike.

Guys R15 is indeed a very gud bike bt some minor changes should be done to make it even better.... 1st of all, the back side of the bike is not proportionate to the front(including the rear tyres).. The engine should be more covered like big sports bikes.. And last but not the least, the price should be 8-10 thousand less....
Do you agree?????

It would be better if yamaha alters the R15 model to R20 (i.e, engine with 200cc) and with broad aft wheelbase of 1350mm (same as FZs and FAZER)
