Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
Yamaha MT-15 V2 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
After the discontinuation of the Yamaha MT-15 V1 as the sales for it dipped down as they were not selling many units in January, the Japanese Corporation has launched the latest version of the same series. After a lot of criticism of the old box-section swing-arm of V1, they have taken a few points from the R15 V4 and applied that to the latest MT-15 V2. The Yamaha MT-15 V2 hosts new premium underpinnings, a somewhat more torque engine, a smarter instrument cluster and a bunch of new shades.
Yamaha MT-15 V2 Design & Style
We can see a few changes to the new version from its predecessor, but not much has changed. It comes with a Uni-seat with a grab bar which offers an upright riding position and easy leg reach and a raised LED tail light giving it a sleek and edgy design. The mudguard has been refreshed a bit and the quality seems to be improved too. They could have gone with a complete makeover with MT-15 V2.0 like the new R15 V4. By taking some tips from the Yamaha MT-03, they could have made the MT-15 V2 more exciting.
Yamaha MT-15 V2 Engine & Gearbox
2024 Yamaha MT-15 V2 houses a 155cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled 4-stroke SOHC 4-valve which generates a max power of 18.4 HP at 10,000 rpm and a max torque of 14.1 Nm at 7,500 rpm. Having the same displacement as the previous version, the max power and max torque output are lower. The reason for that could be the engine detuning to achieve a better fuel economy.
The BS6-compliant engine’s output compared with the previous BS4 version is lower by 0.7 HP and 0.2 Nm. The Deltabox frame, braking hardware and the rear mono-shock unit are the same as in the earlier version.
Brakes, Suspension and Tyres
The new MT-15 V2 comes with a single-channel ABS, 282mm single disc front brake and a 220mm single-disc rear brake. The front tyre is 100/80-R17 M/C 52P with a front wheel of 17-inch and the rear tyre is a 140/70-R17 M/C 66H radial with a rear wheel of 17-inch as well, comprising of the tubeless tyres and the alloy wheels. Telescopic Forks (Upside-Side Down) of 37mm for the front and Linked-Type Mono-cross for the rear suspension have been added.
Top Speed and Mileage
2024 Yamaha MT-15 V2 approximately achieves a mileage of 40 kmpl, and the estimated top speed is 130 KMPH. MT-15 V2 could go from 0 to 100 KMPH in 12.08 seconds.
Key Features
New model of the MT-15 V2 features comprise the LED DRLs, LED projector headlight and taillight. A fully redesigned Negative LCD digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity (Y-Connect App) for calls, SMS, and email alerts, but the navigation system is still missing. The quick shifter and traction control system are not available, not even as an additional option.
Variants
2024 Yamaha MT-15 V2 is only available in one variant that is MT-15 V2 STD and it is available in 4 colour options - Metallic Black, Ice Fluo-Vermillion, Cyan Storm and Racing Blue.
Competitors
Bajaj Dominar 250, retailing just a few rupees over MT-15 V2, has an improved engine and output retaining most of the MT-15 V2 features as well. Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 in a similar price range as the Dominar 250, has a sporty look and fares well in terms of features and performance. KTM 125 Duke can be considered a decent option against MT-15 V2 as well. Suzuki Gixxer 250 overcomes the MT-15 V2 in many aspects and you can consider this bike as well, but it is on the pricier side.
Conclusion
2024 Yamaha MT-15 V2 has definitely got some fancy upgrades, and it seems quite better than before. But there are some key safety features still missing from it and a few convenient and comfortable additions could have been added. So we advise you to keep all that in mind before going for your dream bike.

The Overall Design of the Bike Is Quite Sleek
I have been using the Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 for the past 25 days and it has been an absolute blessing. The speed and acceleration it offers is truly phenomenal and the mileage I have been getting in the city is around 35km/litre, which is quite impressive. The build quality is top-notch and the overall design of the bike is quite sleek. The suspension and handling are excellent, making it a great choice for both city and highway driving. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone looking for an affordable yet reliable ride.
The riding posture on the bike is good, however, the suspension could be stiffer
The Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 is a great bike for those looking for a power-packed performance. It's powered by a 155cc single-cylinder engine that produces 19.3 Bhp and 14.7 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that helps in providing good performance. The riding posture on the bike is good, however, the suspension could be stiffer as it doesn't absorb bumps very well. The handling of the bike is good and it handles quite well in heavy traffic, especially since it's a naked bike. However, if comfort is your main priority, then this might not be the bike for you.
A Practical and Powerful Ride
The Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 is equipped with a single-channel ABS system that provides an added layer of protection. This system helps to reduce the braking distance and improve the stability of the bike. The raised handlebar and more conventional riding position of the bike makes it suitable for daily commuting. The bike also features a host of other features such as Bluetooth connectivity, a multifunctional LCD display, and multiple riding modes. All these features make the Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 a great option for those looking for a practical and powerful ride.
Yamaha has taken the 155cc segment to the next level
After the launch of MT-15 Version 2.0, Yamaha has taken the 155cc segment to the next level. The MT-15 Version 2.0 comes with a refined design that is both attractive and aerodynamic. The engine is powerful and efficient, and it is also lightweight, making it easy to handle. Moreover, the price point makes it a great option in the segment. All in all, Yamaha has done a great job of creating a comprehensive package with the MT-15 Version 2.0. If you're looking for a stylish and powerful bike in the 155cc segment, then the Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 is definitely worth considering.
