TVS Apache RTR Matte Blue Edition Review

27 Jan, 2016 04:10 PM

TVS introduced a Matte Blue Edition for its popular Apache RTR series in the end of 2015. The shade was introduced on RTR 160 Single Disc, 160 Double Disc, 180 and 180 ABS. All of them look nearly the same as the overall design for all the bikes is the same expect the sticker job and the engine difference.

Matte Blue looks very attractive and provides a more racy look to the beast. It highlights the bold front fascia and even provides a clean view of the edges of its muscular fuel tank. The shade is charged at a premium of INR 750 over the normal ex-showroom price of the motorcycle.

The Apache RTR 160 comes with 2 configurations, single disc and double disc. The Matt Blue edition for the single disc costs INR 73,264 whereas the double disc variant comes at INR 2,000 premium, which is INR 75,264. The changes are merely cosmetic on the Matt Blue edition with the same 159.7 cc engine producing 15.2 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 13.1 NM @ 4,000 rpm.

The Apache RTR 180 also gets 2 variants, RTR 180 and 180 ABS. The most effective braking motorcycle available in the Indian market, RTR 180 ABS comes with dual channel ABS and gets a price tag of INR 88,032 for the Matt Blue Edition. The non-ABS variant of the Matt Blue RTR 180 comes with a price tag of INR 77,294. The 177.4 cc engine on the motorcycle is good for 17.03 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 15.5 NM @ 6,500 rpm.

Apache offers the best value for you money being invested in a motorcycle. Even if we consider the single disc 160 cc or the ABS loaded 180 cc variant, both offers the best in class performance with an effective price tag and technologically safe drive all the time. TVS recently launched the Apache RTR 200 4V, serving as the flagship product for 1 of the top 10 two-wheeler manufacturers in the world.
