Triumph Street Twin Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
The new street twin with its stripped black styling and minimalistic design, looks a lot fresher than it's aging predecessor. The best part is, that even with it's new youthful design, the bike still manages to retain the classic charm associated with original Bonneville silhouette. The ingenious combination of contemporary and classic looks, will make the new Triumph an eye-candy on the Indian roads.
Dimensions and Weight
The all new Triumph Street Twin is 785 mm in width, 1114mm in height and the weighs 198 kg(dry). The wheelbase is 1415 mm and the seat height is 750mm. The modern retro comes with fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.
Engine and Gearbox
The 2016 bike comes equipped with a 900 cc liquid cooled engine which produces a maximum horsepower of 54.24 bhp at 5900 rpm and a peak torque of 80 Nm at 3200 rpm. The only downside is that it still equipped with 5-speed gearbox. However, Triumph claims that the 'slip assist' clutch is very light compared to the previous Bonneville and the gearbox is smooth and precise.
Brakes and Suspension
The Triumph is equipped with – Single disc, Nissin 2 piston floating caliper brake set up, which is highly effective and feels very impressive. The bike also comes with modern day ABS and an all new chassis and suspension which contribute to making the riding experience brilliant.
Ride quality and Reliability
The street twin is fun, engaging and, also very stable. The bike handling is superb. The seat has a very thick padding which makes long rides very comfortable. The Triumph comes with a slightly wider front wheel (18 inches) which may take while to get used to, if you're accustomed to 17 inchers.
