Suzuki GSX-R750 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
GSX-R750 is a globally known sports bike which will soon debut in our Indian bike market. It’s a highly appreciated bike which is under production since 1985. Let’s check out this racing bike in detail.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Design and Style
The bike was originally conceived as a full fairing bike which further gave way to bikes like GSX-R1000. The new age designing of this bike simply differentiates it from regular full fairing bikes. The bike has an integrated front and side fairing which looks really attractive with sporty decals. The air-inlets and fluidic design of its side fairing makes it look aerodynamic. The engine cowl has also been integrated in this fairing which has been extended till its rear tyre. This multicolour scheme on this bike really looks catchy and adds visual bulk to this bike. The up-raised fuel tank of GSX-R750 has deep cuts which looks sharp when seen from either side. The front face of the bike sports an aggressive headlight which is placed right in the middle of its cowl. This cowl also sports rear view mirrors with integrated clear lens side indicators. The V-shaped visor also enhances the appearance of this bike. Its pointed front fairing and sharp front fender almost completely covers its front forks which connect to its three spoke black colored alloy wheels. The up-swept dark muffler, edgy rear cowl and split seats give this bike a naked look. The rear cowl houses its LED tail light and side indicators which looks quite synchronized. Its extended rear fender and wide tyre further enhance the visual appeal of this bike.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Instrument Console
The bike has a futuristic combined analogue-digital instrument console. The left dial houses its analogue tachometer while its LCD displays the digital speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer and 2-tripmeter. This LCD also features gear position indicator, lap timer, clock and service reminder. Other essential LED indicators have also been aligned in this dashboard.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Engine and Gearbox
The bike is powered by a 4-stroke, 4-cylinder 749cc engine. This DOHC engine produces a peak power of 147.8 bhp at 13200 rpm. This liquid-cooled engine generates a maximum torque output of 86.3 Nm which arrives at 11200 rpm. Suzuki serves this bike with a six-speed manual gearbox. This gearbox has one gear down and five gears up-shift pattern.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Acceleration and Performance
The light weight of GSX-R750 helps this bike to achieve best in class power to weight ratio. This bike is not for the slow performers. Its racing DNA always prompts you to push it hard. Torque only plays its primary function in this bike as it more depends up on its power delivery. The maximum power of this engine arrives as high as 13200 rpm which makes it a true speed performer on highways. The bike has tall gear ratios which help you to achieve this power in a systemized manner. The more you rev it, the more it performs. That’s the logic behind the performance of this bike. It reaches 0-100 km/hr in less than 4 seconds. This refined 4-cylinder engine shows no sign of stress even at the speed of 200km/hr. The engine sound will easily attract people on roads. The Suzuki Dual throttle valve technology gives it lightning fast speed. Frequent gear shifts though are a matter of concern in city traffic where you look for linear power delivery. It easily defeats its most of the rivals thanks to its exceptionally powerful high range. The gearbox is well tuned and requires little effort from your side.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Mileage
You will only get an overall fuel economy of around 15km/ltr with this bike.
Comfort while Driving
The light handle bar is quite easy to hold allows you to firmly hold this bike. The handle levers are also adjustable and can be adjusted by the rider to get optimum comfort. The seating position on this bike is a bit high which needs you to bend forward to reach its handle bar. The road visibility is quite good and you can easily steer this bike through traffic. The split seats of GSX-R750 are spacious but fail to hold you for long hours. The 3-way adjustable rear set foot pegs help you to get an aerodynamic position while your knees get a solid grip of its fuel tank. Other plastic buttons and features also enhance your comfort while driving.
Storage Space and Safety Features
Don’t look for any type of storage space in this bike. Yes, it has some vital safety features like radial mounted 4-piston callipers and powerful headlight.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Suspension and Brakes
GSX-R750 has inverted 41mm adjustable forks at its front while it has aluminium swing arm with link type coil spring mono shock at the back. The bike has twin front disc brakes of 310mm and a single rear disc brake of 220mm.
Ride and Handling
The adjustable suspension system and fatty tyres improves the ride quality of this bike. Despite having a wheelbase of 1390mm, the bike is surprisingly stable at high speeds. Its light frame plays a significant role in its superior ride quality. Turning this bike at slow speeds around corners is not an issue either thanks to its ground clearance of 130mm. The braking system gives you good grip of roads and you can frequently move through city traffic. The electronic steering gives it a very light handling. The bike feels quite responsive around turns and requires minimal effort while changing lanes at high speeds. Everything feels quite perfect in this department.
Suzuki GSX-R750 Tyre Size, Colours and Variants
The bike will be equipped with 17inches alloy wheels. Suzuki is yet to announce the colors and variants of this bike.
Verdict
It’s a racing bike which surprises you from its power packed performance and has the style factor to turn heads on roads. Its resemblance with its expensive sibling, GSX-R1000 is also an advantage for this bike. GSX-R750 offers everything what you expect from a bike of this segment. We feel it’s a complete value for money bike though we will have to wait for its launch to know about its accurate pricing. Suzuki may launch this bike with a price tag of around INR 13-14 lakhs.
