On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Review

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

With the launch of the highly awaited alternative to the RE Himalayan, RE Scram 411 is an affordable and easy-going option. But it doesn't mean that it is just an ectype version of the Himalayan. It has its own quirks that differentiate it from the Himalayan, and it carries some of the same features as well. Scram 411 is one of the 7 different products that Royal Enfield has in the Indian market. Re Scram 411 is available in three variants and seven different colours.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Design and Style

It seems like Royal Enfield wanted to develop a more accessible version of the Himalayan that can be more home to the city but also can be taken on explorations beyond. To that extent, the design changes have resulted in the making of a less serious and shorter Himalayan. The front of the Scram 411 has got some serious changes, like they set the headlamp lower and further in, giving Scram 411 a better sense of proportion. Halogen lamp sits within a nice cast aluminium surround, at the sides, two small side panels replace the Himalayan style bulky fuel tank frame. The seat is an all-new single unit panel that looks good and comfortable. They re-profiled the rear section with a smaller grab handle and a different indicator/number plate set-up. The other area where RE Scram 411 differentiates itself from the Himalayan is in their colour schemes as well.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Engine and Gearbox

New Scram 411 houses the same 411cc, single-cylinder SOHC air-cooled 4-stroke fuel-injected engine that also powers the Himalayan. The max power and torque generated by the BS6 compliant engine are 24.3 HP @ 6500 rpm and 32 Nm @ 4250 ± 250 rpm, respectively. They mated it with a constant mesh type 5-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Brakes, Suspension and Tyres

Instead of the 21/17 inch setup of the Himalayan Scram 411 comes with a 19-inch front tyre and 17-inch rear tyre setup. For braking duties, it gets a 300mm Disc 2-piston floating calliper at the front and a 240mm Disc, single-piston floating calliper at the rear with a switchable dual-channel ABS. Scram comes with a 41mm telescopic forks with 190mm travel in the front and rear linked mono shock absorber with 180mm wheel travel.

Instrument Console of Royal Enfield Scram 411

The new offset instrument console looks to be adopted from the Meteor 350 but with a different colour treatment around the speedometer. The Tripper navigation display on the sides is optional, as it was in the Meteor 350. It might look smart, but there is an issue with it, you don't get the rev counter which was in the Himalayan. And the console is mechanical, there is no button to switch off rear ABS and if you want to do that, you'll have to pull the fuse out, which will deactivate the entire system.

Key Features of Royal Enfield Scram 411

Some of the key features of 2024 RE Scram 411 include - Digi-Analogue Instrument Console, Dual-Channel ABS (switchable), High ground Clearance, Quick acceleration and such. Comfort features include - Electric Start, Step-up Seat/Split Seat, Pillion Grab-rail, Pillion Footrest, and Engine Stop Switch.

Top Speed and Mileage of Royal Enfield Scram 411

2024 Scram 411 offers a mileage of 30 kmpl (approx.) and a top speed of 140 kmph (speedo-indicated). In terms of performance, it can speed up from 0 to 60 kmph in 4.5 seconds and 0-100 kmph in 12.27 seconds.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Colour Options

New RE Scram 411 comes in three variants (Graphite Series, Blazing Black & Skyline Blue, White Flame & Silver Spirit) and seven colour schemes. The Graphite series has Graphite Blue, Graphite Red and Graphite Yellow. Blazing Black, Skyline Blue, White Flame, and Silver Spirit are the other colours that are available.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Price in India

The ex-showroom (Delhi) price of the 2024 Royal Enfield Scram 411 Graphite Blue series is 2.06 lakh, the Blazing Black and Skyline Blue is 2.08 lakh and the White Flame and the Silver Spirit is 2.11 lakh. The on-road price (Delhi) of the Graphite Series is 2.38 lakh, Blazing Black and Skyline Blue is 2.40 lakh and the White Flame and Silver Spirit is 2.44 lakh.

Royal Enfield Scram 411 Competitors

The RE Himalayan, Yezdi Scrambler and Yezdi Adventure serve as direct rivals to the 2024 RE Scram 411. Honda CB350RS, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Benelli Imperiale 400, RE Meteor 350, BMW G310GS, Bajaj Dominar 400 are some more options in the same area. Komaki Ranger, Odysse Electric Evoqis, Joy e-bike Skyline, Joy e-bike Hurricane, and Joy e-bike Thunderbolt are some of the electric alternatives available in the same price range.

Verdict

2024 Royal Enfield Scram 411 is a cool-looking bike that feels lighter on the go and is manageable for the newbie off-road riders. Scram 411 does most of the things that Himalayan can do. The lighter steering and easier ergonomics and tauter suspension make it more capable for beginners. The only letdown would be the ABS, which is not switchable and the build and finish are not up to par.
