KTM Duke 200 (BS6)

About
The 2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6 is a well-rounded motorcycle that combines performance, style, and comfort. The bike features a 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 25 PS of power and 19.3 Nm of torque, ensuring brisk acceleration and smooth power delivery. The new design is sharper and more aggressive, with a larger 13.5-liter fuel tank and a more spacious seat, making it more comfortable for both the rider and the pillion. The suspension setup, including 43 mm upside-down forks and a monoshock rear, provides excellent handling and stability. The bike also comes equipped with a dual-channel ABS and MRF Revz tyres, enhancing safety and grip. Overall, the Duke 200 BS6 is a polished product that, while pricey, offers a compelling package for those seeking a fun and capable naked motorcycle.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The 2020 KTM Duke 200 in its BS6 avatar is a significantly refined and matured motorcycle. While it retains the same powerful 199.5cc engine producing 25 PS of power and 19.3 Nm of torque, the bike has lost some of its initial frantic and fiery nature. This refinement makes it more accessible to a broader audience, but it may disappoint those who loved the old bikes hooligan-like behavior. The new design, borrowed from the 250 Duke, is sharper and more appealing, and the addition of a dual-channel ABS and a larger fuel tank are welcome updates. However, the increased price, now over Rs 2 lakhs on-road, makes it less of a value-for-money proposition compared to other KTM models.
Price
The 2020 KTM Duke 200 BS6 comes with a substantial price tag. The ex-showroom price in India is around Rs 1.73 lakh, but once you factor in the on-road costs, it jumps to over Rs 2 lakhs, specifically Rs 2,03,855 in Mumbai. This significant price hike is largely due to the new styling package and the updates to comply with BS6 norms. While the bike looks more attractive and is more eco-friendly, the price increase may deter some potential buyers who are looking for a more affordable option within the KTM lineup.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 04:53 PM When it comes to mileage, the KTM Duke 200 BS6 offers a reasonable fuel efficiency, especially considering its performance-oriented nature. It delivers around 28-32 kml, which is decent for a 200cc motorcycle. This mileage should help keep running costs manageable, making it a viable option for those who want a fun yet relatively economical ride.

KTM RC390 is Value for Money

The bike has Got everything a rider wants. You can take it for touring and as well as for daily commute. The bike has so much power stored in it. Everyone is seeing its competition with ninja 300 and Yamaha r3 but if you see there prices are nearly double of it and they are twin cylinder bikes and this one is single cylinder bike . The heating problem is due to the single cylinder as the bike has too powerful engine with single cylinder but if you see the performance than this bike has got way too much than its rivals. If you want sporty looks with abs safety and high performance this one is for you.

Best Features: Console, Ride by Wire.

Pros: Ride By Wire, Abs , Brakes, Console, Looks, Build Quality, Power, and everything

Cons: Heating Problem and Mileage

Bike for the Real Rider

The KTM 390 Duke is a wonderful bike. It delivers an awesome riding experience and it takes no time at going higher speeds. The handling is quite good but it takes me some time to get used to it. On the clear roads there are no any engine issues but in the case of traffic jam, it heats up pretty quick. One more thing which goes against the bike is its horn and headlight. I would recommend to change the headlights and increase the horn intensity so that you stay safe.

Best Features: Ease in Handling and Looks

Pros: Appearance, Easy gear shifting, Handling

Cons: Weak horn & headlights, Lack of storage for kit/papers, Engine heating

A Street Bike Designed For Paved Roads

The KTM 390 Duke is a beast of motorcycle. It is light weight and you can handle it comfortably. The most important thing is that it generates a good torque value which makes your journey enjoyable on streets and safe om highways. Look wise it is quite attractive which will definitely encourage you to buy it. It has a great engine which offers more power in comparison to other beginner bikes. The braking system is quite impressive which is the standout feature of this bike. Coming to the downside, you will notice that the fuel tank capacity is quite low where cannot expect long tours. The clutch is too heavy and the quality of wheels are also not good. On the other hand, the throttle response of this machine is rough, especially at low rev ranges. The another issue with this bike is engine oil which sometimes starts leaking which reduces the oil level.

Best Features: Excellent Brakes & Eye Catching Looks

Pros: Eye catching looks, powerful engine, excellent brakes, light weight

Cons: Low fuel tank capacity, heavy clutch, rough throttle, bad wheel quality, engine oil problem
