MAXABOUT RATING AND OVERVIEW | |
Vehicle Overview | Honda CBR300R is an upgraded version of the CBR250R. The 300cc CBR carries a great design and uses its single cylinder engine to produce 30.4 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 27.1 Nm @ 7250 rpm. It is actually the best substitute to the current gen Indian CBR as it looks refreshed and would practically compete against the rising number of motorcycles including KTM RC 390, Dominar 400 and Mahindra Mojo. It weighs just 164 kg and claims a top speed of 157 kmph. The motorcycle wins over everything with its 785 mm of accessible seat height. |

Honda CBR300R STD Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Honda has always been efficient in its running dynamics and its various engines are a symbol of steady performance in each segment. After the introduction of KTM super sport series, the craze for a motorcycle with a 200 to 400 cc engine has gone up significantly, making way for more and more sport bikes into the market. Some manufacturers rely on the engine size whereas some add up an extra cylinder to it.
Design & Style
The CBR300R is coming up with the same design as the new 2015 CBR250R has been seen with, lighting up a conspiracy that whether it will arrive or not. The bike has the same twin headlight aggressive design and the same perfectly faired sides. The exhaust being used has been chrome covered and looks very neat on the motorcycle.
Instrument Console
The instrument console used in the CBR300R is the same as that being used on the CBR150R. The background of the tachometer stays black and all other properties like speed and trip distance is displayed in the LED display below the analogue tachometer.Engine & Performance
The CBR300R gets the power from a single cylinder, 286 cc engine which produces 30.4 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 27.1 NM @ 7250 rpm. The 6-speed gearbox works very well to the system and the bike gets fuel injection and liquid cooling for better and refined performance. The overall weight is 164 kg, in which the engine weight is just 35.4 kg.
Brakes & Suspension
Honda has used a 296 mm disc brake for the front, whereas a 220 mm disc has been used for the rear. ABS has been provided for better braking in non-ideal conditions also. Suspension duty is performed by 37 mm telescopic forks at the front whereas the rear gets a pro-link monoshock suspension. The front tire measures 110/70-17 whereas the rear has a 140/70-17 tire.
Shades & Expected Price
The CBR300R is expected to be in Red, Black and Tri-color shade, with the availability of Repsol edition also possible. The expected price for the CBR300R is INR 1,95,000. The price range and the engine power conflicts with the new CBR250R, reducing the chances of its launch in India.
