Thursday, 14 November 2024 06:29 PM Honda is set to unveil the Activa Electric on November 27, 2024, marking its entry into the electric vehicle market in India. The scooter is expected to feature a design similar to its ICE counterpart, including an LED headlamp, a wide front apron, and a flat seat. It will also come with a fully digital instrument cluster and higher variants may include a touchscreen display with connected tech and navigation. I think this design will appeal to both old and new Activa fans.
Wednesday, 13 November 2024 11:23 AM The Honda Activa Electric will be priced between Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it competitive with other electric scooters like the Ola Electric S1, TVS iQube, and Bajaj Chetak Electric. The scooter is expected to offer a range of 100-150km on a single charge. I believe this pricing will make it an attractive option for those looking to switch to electric.
Tuesday, 12 November 2024 07:45 AM Honda has teased the Activa Electric with a new LED headlight mounted on the front apron, hinting at its upcoming launch. The scooter is expected to have the performance of the Honda Activa 110 and will feature a digital display with Bluetooth connectivity and LED lights. The frame will be designed to optimize space for the battery and motor.
Monday, 11 November 2024 05:41 AM The Honda Activa Electric will use the same Activa platform but with modifications to accommodate the battery pack, helping to keep costs in check. It will feature telescopic front forks, disc brakes at the front, and a rear drum brake, along with a combined braking system. The scooter is also expected to have a larger boot compared to the ICE version. I think this will be a practical addition for daily use.
Monday, 11 November 2024 05:40 AM Honda has filed patents revealing key EV components such as motors, battery packs, chargers, and controllers for the Activa Electric. The scooter will be built on a new dedicated platform known as “Platform E,” designed to support various models with different battery configurations. A swappable battery system is also in the pipeline for future models.
Sunday, 10 November 2024 06:32 AM Honda is investing heavily in infrastructure to support its EV rollout, including a dedicated “Factory E” at its Narsapura plant in Karnataka. This facility will focus on producing EV motors, aiming for a production capacity of 1 million units by 2030. Additionally, Honda is enhancing its manufacturing lines to handle both ICE and electric vehicles. I believe this investment will pay off in the long run.
Saturday, 09 November 2024 12:03 PM Honda plans to establish a nationwide battery-swapping network, starting with 23 stations in Bengaluru in Phase 1. This network will eventually extend across southern states and then nationwide. The company is also converting some of its existing service touchpoints to “Workshop E” centres dedicated to EV service and support.
Friday, 08 November 2024 08:06 AM Honda’s Indian R&D division has opened a new Solution R&D Centre in Bengaluru, focusing on accelerating EV development, particularly in software, connected services, and collaboration with other companies. This aligns with Honda’s global target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Friday, 25 October 2024 07:55 AM The Honda Activa Electric is expected to compete directly with established players in the EV space such as Hero MotoCorp, TVS, Bajaj, and startups like Ather and Ola. Despite being late to the market, Honda’s brand reputation and quality are likely to make a significant impact. I think Hondas entry will shake up the market a bit.
Sunday, 15 September 2024 06:16 PM Honda has been steadily advancing its electric vehicle plans for India, with the Activa Electric being its first EV offering. The company has been working on key EV components and has filed patents for design elements, including a fixed battery pack and a hub motor. This indicates a focus on both utility and performance.

Strongly advise taking a look at other scooter models

Vibhu Goel | One year ago

After purchasing the new Honda Activa 6G in February 2021, I initially thought it was a good scooter. However, after a few days of use, I started to notice some strange noises coming from the engine and the brakes seemed to be of poor quality. Additionally, it had a much worse mileage than my previous Honda Activa 3G.

Therefore, I would strongly advise taking a look at other scooter models if you are considering buying the Honda Activa 6G. I found that there are other scooters that offer better performance, better mileage, and are overall a more reliable choice.

Needs improvement

One of the most remarkable features of the Honda Activa 6G is its double hook-up design, but unfortunately it is open ended, which can be dangerous if you go over a bump. The start button with an on/off feature is an interesting addition, but it is not entirely necessary as you can simply turn the key off to shut down the engine.

I had an issue with the temporary number sticker I was removing above the petrol intake cover. Although I had closed it, it opened up and I can’t be sure if this is a genuine defect or not.

I would like to also point out that the tank size could be increased as it can get empty quite quickly when used as a daily commuter.

Performance is not up to the mark

Kunal Vikram Singh | One year ago

Honda Activa 6G has a great look, with a sleek and stylish design. However, its performance is not up to the mark with a mileage of less than 40 kmpl. The cost of the bike is also quite high compared to other bikes. To improve the quality of the model, Honda should focus on improving its performance and reducing the cost of the bike. This would surely help in making the Activa 6G a better choice among the customers.

Good and Reliable..Little too Expensive

I've been riding this for last 6 month and the best part is never felt the lack of power in the time of need compared to other bikes on the road..the disc brakes are impressive and works well.the mileage could have been little better, now getting around 40 kmpl, and the head lights are a bit too shallow.

Best Features: Disc brake, wider longer seat, fresh looks with chrome finish

Pros: Riding comfort, pickup

Cons: Head light, suspension
