USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS Scooty Pep Plus, particularly the variants available in India, is a stellar choice for those seeking a reliable, fuel-efficient, and easy-to-handle scooter. It stands out with its lightweight design, making it an ideal option for short riders and women. The scooters performance is decent, with a 87.8 cc engine producing 5.4 PS and 6.5 Nm of torque, which is more than sufficient for city commutes. The ride quality is soft, thanks to the telescopic suspension at the front and coil spring with hydraulic dampers at the rear, although high-speed stability can be a bit compromised. Overall, it offers great value for money, excellent mileage, and a comfortable riding experience, making it a top contender in its segment.

Latest Updates
Friday, 07 April 2023 10:31 AM The TVS Scooty Pep Plus, including the Babelicious Edition, has been discontinued due to the implementation of BS6 Phase 2 emission standards. The production of the scooter has ceased, although it is still listed on TVSs website and available at select dealerships until stocks run out. The Babelicious Edition was priced at Rs 66,514 (ex-showroom Delhi). I believe this discontinuation marks the end of an era for a scooter that was known for its affordability and ease of use.
Monday, 24 August 2020 11:52 AM TVS Motor Company increased the prices of the Scooty Pep Plus, including the Babelicious Edition, by Rs 800 across all variants. This price hike was attributed to rising input costs, particularly due to the pandemic. The Babelicious Edition was then priced at Rs 53,754 (ex-showroom Delhi). I think this price increase, although necessary, might have impacted the scooters appeal to budget-conscious buyers.
Monday, 08 June 2020 04:53 AM The TVS Scooty Pep Plus Babelicious Edition was launched as part of the scooters BS6 updates. This edition, along with the matte series, was priced at a premium of over Rs 1,200 compared to the standard colors. The Babelicious Edition featured unique colors and additional cosmetic enhancements. I believe these special editions added a touch of style to an otherwise practical scooter.
Monday, 08 June 2020 02:32 AM The BS6 version of the TVS Scooty Pep Plus, including the Babelicious Edition, was introduced with several updates, including a fuel-injected engine that increased power and torque compared to the BS4 model. The scooter also featured a side stand alarm, utility spaces, and a charging socket. I think these updates made the scooter more attractive despite the price hike.
Thursday, 11 April 2019 09:41 AM To celebrate 25 years of the Scooty brand, TVS introduced new color options, including those for the Scooty Pep Plus Babelicious Edition. The scooter remained a popular choice among women riders and first-time buyers due to its affordability and ease of use. I believe these commemorative colors added a fresh appeal to the scooter.

I bought TVS Scooty Pep Plus in 2013 and I have chosen blush Red shade in it. It looks amazing in this color. It is very convenient in handling and it just cross the heavy traffic like a winner. Its seating posture is comfortable and it is most suitable for the short height person like me. I always had a fear of riding heavy vehicles on road as I am 4'9", handle other scooters like Activa etc is not my cup of tea. Now, I drive this scooter fearlessly and I never faced any parking problem with it. It also scores good marks in the term of mileage, It returns me 45-49 kmpl average from which I am satisfied. It also have enough space to carry your routine bag with documents of scoot. The problem of this scooter which is not a technical prob though is, tall person can't ride it comfortably because of its height. Else its a good option for short height person.

Worst Experience with the Bike

I purchased this bike exactly two months ago for my wife, the decision was primarily to save Rs.7000.00 over Honda Activa’s cost. Much more could be done to make this bike. I feel this bike lacks in various aspects like it has poor pickup, it is stylish to some extent though still brakes are unreliable as the vehicle simply doesn't stop when it rains and if you still persist, the front fork will develop a shake into it. It has very low ground clearance- hits even smallest humps on the road -especially with pillion rider. The buyers specially the women who do not go into technical aspects/reliability/performance details are cheated by the looks.

Best Features: Satisfactory features, not impressed

Pros: Free Maintenance, Moderate Mileage good for Scooty

Cons: Poor quality tyres, Can't bear heavy weight, Unreliable brakes
