Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro

About
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro is a well-rounded motorcycle that combines style, performance, and comfort. The new 4-valve engine produces 16.9hp at 8,500rpm, making it one of the quickest bikes in its segment, with improved acceleration and a top speed of around 120-125 kph. The bike features a muscular fuel tank, a split seat, and a lower-mounted headlight on the Pro variant, giving it a sportier look. The USD fork on the Pro version enhances ride comfort and handling, although the suspension has been softened slightly to improve comfort. The bike is lightweight at 145kg, making it agile and easy to handle. While it lacks some modern features like connectivity, it is well-suited for daily commutes and occasional spirited rides, making it a great choice for enthusiasts and new riders alike.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro is a significant improvement over its predecessor, addressing many of the shortcomings that held the older model back. With its new 4-valve engine, the bike now boasts stronger performance, particularly in the mid-range, making it more enjoyable in both city traffic and on the highways. The addition of a USD fork enhances the front-end stability and ride comfort, although the rear suspension could be slightly stiffer for better handling at the limit. While the bike lacks connectivity features on the top model and could benefit from dual-channel ABS, it remains a compelling choice in its segment. The riding position is comfortable, and the bike handles well, making it a fun and practical daily companion. However, the seat comfort is a mixed bag, feeling comfortable only for short periods. Overall, the Xtreme 160R 4V Pro is a solid option for those seeking a stylish, performance-oriented motorcycle without breaking the bank.
Price
The Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro is priced competitively in the Indian market. The standard variant starts at Rs 1.27 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi, while the Pro version, which includes additional features like the USD fork, is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh ex-showroom. On-road prices, including taxes and other costs, would typically range from Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.65 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given the improvements and the feature set, the pricing is reasonable and makes the Xtreme 160R 4V Pro an attractive option compared to its rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar N160.
Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro on road price is Rs 1.57 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.62 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.59 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 1.61 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Hero dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.
Latest Updates
Friday, 26 July 2024 11:18 AM The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has been launched in India with several significant updates, including a new Kevlar Brown color, a revised instrument console with enhanced brightness and a drag timer, and a new panic brake alert system. The bike also features dual-channel ABS and 37mm KYB USD forks for improved safety and ride quality. I think these updates make the Xtreme 160R 4V a more competitive option in the 160cc segment.
Friday, 26 July 2024 09:18 AM Hero Motocorp has introduced a new tail lamp design for the 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V, featuring the Signature H mark, which enhances the visual appeal of the rear portion of the bike. Additionally, the pillion seat has been redesigned to be flatter and more accessible, improving comfort for rear riders. I believe these aesthetic and practical changes will appeal to a wider range of buyers.
Saturday, 13 July 2024 04:56 AM The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is now priced at Rs 1,38,500 (ex-showroom) and boasts a range of new features, including a new speedometer with improved brightness and drag timing capabilities. This makes it one of the most feature-rich bikes in its class. I think the addition of these features, especially the drag timer, will be a hit among enthusiasts.
Thursday, 21 September 2023 09:42 AM In terms of performance, the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V delivers 16.9 PS of power at 8500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm, making it a solid choice for daily commuting. However, it has been noted that the bikes acceleration is not as aggressive as some of its competitors, which might make it less exciting for some riders. I believe this balance between power and practicality will suit many commuters.
Thursday, 21 September 2023 02:47 AM The fuel efficiency of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has been reported to be around 35-37 kmpl, which is somewhat lower than expected for a 160cc bike, especially when ridden aggressively. However, more gentle riding can yield up to 40 kmpl. I think this is an area where riders need to be mindful of their riding style to get the best mileage.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 10:02 AM The mileage of the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Pro is a crucial factor for many potential buyers in India. While the exact fuel efficiency figures are not yet fully detailed in long-term reviews, initial impressions suggest that the bike should deliver around 40-50 kmpl in mixed riding conditions. This is typical for a 160cc motorcycle in this segment. The bikes fuel-injected engine and revised gear ratios are designed to optimize performance without compromising on fuel efficiency. However, real-world mileage can vary based on riding style, road conditions, and maintenance of the vehicle. Its worth noting that the first tankful has not been fully drained in some long-term tests, indicating that the bike might be quite economical for daily commuting.
