About
The Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two is a Sportster model that embodies the spirit of the 1970s choppers. It features a low 710 mm seat height, making it accessible to riders with shorter inseams, and a wide 838 mm mini-ape handlebar that adds to its distinctive look. The bike is powered by a 1200cc V-twin engine, which provides a smooth and stable ride. The single gauge up front includes an analog speedometer and an LCD display for the odometer, trip meters, and time. The braking system, while adequate, requires a firm squeeze on the front brake lever for optimal performance. The Seventy-Twos design, with its reduced suspension travel and low ground clearance, makes it more suited for cruising rather than aggressive riding. Despite some comfort issues for taller riders, the bikes overall design and performance make it a standout in the Harley-Davidson lineup.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two is a bike that epitomizes the classic chopper aesthetic, and it does so with remarkable style and flair. The moment you lay eyes on it, the Big Red Flake paint and the minimalist design capture your attention. However, its beauty is not just skin-deep the bike also delivers a smooth riding experience, thanks to its rubber-mounted engine that minimizes vibration. The handling, though not suited for high-speed cornering, is excellent for cruising and slow-speed maneuvers. My only significant complaint is the comfort level, particularly for taller riders, due to the forward controls and the short seat. Despite this, the bikes stability at speed and its intuitive controls make it a joy to ride. For those who value style and a laid-back riding experience, the Seventy-Two is a great choice, but it may not be the best fit for everyone.
Price
In India, the Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two, when it was available, typically fell in the premium segment of motorcycles. The ex-showroom price for this model would have been around 7.5 lakhs to 8.5 lakhs, depending on the region and any customizations. On-road prices, including taxes, registration, and other costs, could have ranged from 9 lakhs to 11 lakhs. Its important to note that prices can vary significantly based on location and any additional features or accessories. Given its premium nature and the brands reputation, the Seventy-Two is an investment for those who appreciate its unique design and riding experience.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 12:18 PM
When it comes to mileage, the Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two is not particularly known for its fuel efficiency. With its 1200cc engine producing 55.8 horsepower and 63.8 foot-pounds of torque, you can expect an average mileage of around 15-20 kml in city riding conditions and slightly better on the highway. This translates to higher running costs, especially considering the premium fuel it requires. However, for enthusiasts who prioritize the riding experience and style over fuel efficiency, the Seventy-Two still offers a compelling package.

Iron 883 MY 2020

Just bought my 2020 Iron 883 and was delivered at home last 11 January 2021. It looks beautiful, the torque can be feel at lower rpm, for city driving is okay, in highway lacking with 6th gear, good ground clearance, fuel tank is good but not bad for my daily rides.
Best Features: Good ground clearance, Fuel tank is okay for daily ride
Pros: Its a beauty in black denim, nimble in highway
Cons: The seat is unconfortable after long rides. The gear indicator only shows when the clutch is release, its hard to find the neutral position, no 6th gear.
