Our take on this /// Verdict
The Ducati Monster S4RS is a powerhouse of a bike that combines raw power with a unique riding experience. From my perspective, this bike is a marvel on the roads, especially in the twisties where its torquey twin engine shines. The low-end torque and shortish gearing make it easy to move off and accelerate quickly, with a quarter twist of the throttle capable of popping the front wheel up. The gearbox is smooth, and the 999R spec Brembos offer exceptional stopping power. However, the riding position, while comfortable for freeway speeds, may require some adjustment for those used to sport bikes like the Yamaha R1. The bikes predictability and confidence-inspiring handling make it a joy to ride, although it may not be the best choice for commuting due to its clutch pull and need to keep the motor spinning.
Price
In India, the Ducati Monster S4RS, when it was available, typically fell in the premium segment of motorcycles. The ex-showroom price would have been around 20-25 lakhs, depending on the year and any customizations. On-road prices, including taxes, registration, and other costs, could have easily exceeded 25-30 lakhs. While this is a significant investment, the S4RS offers a unique blend of performance, style, and exclusivity that justifies the cost for serious motorcycle enthusiasts. However, its important to note that prices can vary based on the specific model year, condition, and any additional features or accessories.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 02:03 AM
The mileage of the Ducati Monster S4RS in India is not particularly stellar, given its high-performance nature. You can expect around 10-15 kml in city riding and up to 20 kml on the highway, depending on your riding style. This is typical for a high-power motorcycle, and the running costs, including fuel and maintenance, will be higher than those of more economical bikes. However, for those who prioritize performance and the riding experience, the mileage is a trade-off worth considering.
