Cagiva Raptor 125 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
Cagiva is a Italian manufacturer of motorcycles since 1978. Its headquarters are located in Varese, Italy. The Raptor 125 was one of the finest 125cc motorbikes from the company. But its production has been stopped after 2010. This amazing roadster turns heads of many masses wherever it goes. Let's see what Cagiva has packed into the Raptor 125.
Design and Style
Cagiva Raptor 125 concept was derived from its bigger siblings Raptor-X and Raptor-V. The Raptor 125 features a front rounded headlamp, the sporty handlebars, the low passenger seat, chromed exhaust and front fender characterized by a smoother profile. The Raptor 125 is quite different from the successor Planet in terms of the instrumentation support, handle grips, license plate holder, black colored wheels, fuel tank and frame. The Raptor and Celtic logos on the chunky fuel tank imparts a more classy and macho look. The aluminum cast alloy wheels makes it an eye catcher almost everywhere. The overall look of Raptor 125 is quite impressive with the above mentioned features.
Dimensions and Fuel tank capacity
The Raptor 125 had a length of 1979 mm, width of 750 mm and a height of 1040 mm as it dimensions along with a weight of 125 Kg. It had a fuel tank capacity of 12.50-litres.
Instrument Panel
The bike was featured by a fully analogue, white faced instrument console which includes a rounded speedometer, fuel gauge and tachometer. The panel also had indicators for pass light, step-up seat, high oil temperature, low fuel, low battery and low oil.
Engine and Gearbox
Cagiva Raptor 125 was powered by the 124.63cc, liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 14.75 Bhp @ 9000 rpm? and a maximum torque of 14 Nm at 8350 rpm. This two valve, single cylinder engine was mated to a six speed transmission and a wet, multi plate clutch system. It had a top speed of 120 kmph.
Brakes and Suspension
The Raptor 125 was equipped with Brembo Serie Oro braking system which includes 2 piston caliper with 320 mm disc brakes at the front and 230 mm disc with tangential slots at the rear end. On the other hand, suspension duties were handled by UPD hydraulic telescopic forks at the front while Sachs progressive with hydraulic shock absorbers are placed at the back.
Ride and Handling
There was a great in riding this naked roadster. The extended wheelbase of 1375 mm offered a safe and stable ride. On the other hand, the high ground clearance of 175 mm protected the under body from damages. The bike had a tyre size of 110/70- ZR17 at the front and 150/60-ZR17 at the back. The flawless suspensions and low turning radius made it perfect around edges and in city traffic. All of these made it suitable for tough conditions.
