Benelli 302S Review

Expert Review by Maxabout

Benelli 302S is an upcoming street fighter that could replace TNT 300 from the Indian market. As it comes with the same engine as 302R, performance will remain almost similar for the new 302S. Benelli TNT 300 has started showing its age in front of other options, that too from smaller and much more affordable segment. The present generation design of TNT 300 is quite similar to 2016 Duke 390 and more than that, next generation Benelli 302S even carries 2018 Duke 390 inspired front headlight. Both bikes are strict rivals in certain international markets of South Asia.

Benelli 302R was launched in India at INR 3.48 lakh while current generation TNT 300 with ABS comes for INR 3.29 lakh. Benelli is expected to place 302S at the same or even lower price point due to better localization and component sharing. Benelli 302S will use the same twin cylinder 300cc engine, producing 38.26 BHP at 11,500 rpm and 26.5 Nm at 10,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets slipper clutch as standard. The full faired option weighs 198 kg but one can expect much lower weight for Benelli 302S due to use of different frame.

Added features over present generation TNT 300 includes LED headlight, sharp styling, full digital console and better tyres. Both TNT 300 and 302S are using the same frame. This will save Benelli a lot of cost in terms of new product development. Also, 302S will rival upcoming BMW G310R in a better manner with these updates. It seems like Benelli nomenclature will also change in coming days as they have started using R and S moniker for race and sport variants. Benelli has discontinued the top spec TNT 899 and TNT R variant in India due to poor sales of their flagship products.
