Bajaj Pulsar N160 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Introduction
Bajaj Auto is popular for its affordable yet stylish bikes, and its fanbase in India, as well as global markets, is growing with each passing day. In particular, its Pulsar series has its own craze among Indian bike lovers thanks to its sporty looks and daily commuter capabilities. Bajaj introduced the first bike from the Pulsar series in 2012, and its journey so far has remained a spectacular one.
To keep the audience intact and boost the sales volume, Bajaj is working on a batch of new Pulsar range bikes, and it has now launched the Pulsar N160 bike in the Indian market. It receives Bajaj’s new technology and design along with the new powertrain. Let’s dive in to know the specs and features in detail to help you make an opinion on the bike.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Design & Style
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160 boasts a design language identical to bigger 250cc bikes. Its aggressive and sharp design complements its naked streetfighter appearance. The maker has finished the bike in dual-tone metallic shades that are darker in the front and get lighter towards the rear profile. A muscular fuel tank with embossed Pulsar branding gives it a robust look, and the LED DRLs shape in the front and the jewel LED tail lamp to add to it. Indicators are separated from the head cowl and seem to be the warrior’s face.
Sharp lines and coloured accents all over the body are the icing on the cake. In terms of body dimensions, the N160 gets a wheelbase of 1358 mm, a ground clearance of 165 mm and a seat height of 795 mm. The kerb weight varies depending on the variants since the dual-channel ABS model is 154 kg while the single-channel one is 152 kg.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Instrument Console
The maker has fitted the N160 with a semi-digital instrument cluster that is easily readable. It offers a decent amount of information, including a trip meter, odometer, gear indicator, clock, fuel economy, and range indicator. The only thing that could be a major drawback is the lack of Bluetooth connectivity, which has become an integral feature in modern-day bikes and even almost all scooter brands are offering this in their current models. However, the bike comes with a USB charging socket to keep your electric gadgets running.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Engine & Gearbox
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160 is powered by a 164.82cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve, oil-cooled, FI engine that generates 16 HP at 8,750 rpm and a max torque of 14.65 Nm at 6,750 rpm. This engine comes mated with a constant-mesh 5-speed gearbox. This engine is also supported by a fibre cowl for enhanced protection and the interesting thing is that the bike exhaust is positioned under the belly.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Brakes, Suspension & Tyres
Braking duties in the new Pulsar N160 are assigned to 300mm disc brakes at the front and 230mm disc brakes at the rear. However, this is for the dual-channel variant only. The single-channel ABS variant gets a 280mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc. As far as suspension is concerned, it is handled by telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock with nitrox at the rear. The bike rides on 17-inch wheels which are outfitted with 100/80 size tubeless tyre at the front and 130/70 size tubeless unit at the rear. The rear tyre is wide enough for a better grip on the road.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Top Speed & Mileage
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160 offers a top speed of approximately 120 km/h. As for mileage, the bike may offer a fuel efficiency of 40-42 kmpl.
Bajaj Pulsar N160 Competitors
In the Indian two-wheeler market, the new Bajaj Pulsar N160 will directly compete with the Hero Xtreme 160R, Yamaha FZ-S Fi V3, Honda XBlade, Suzuki Gixxer and the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
Verdict - Should You Buy Bajaj Pulsar N160 or not?
Bajaj has launched the 2024 Pulsar N160 with a powerful engine and an enticing design language. At this price point, the bike offers a good value since the dual-channel ABS in the 160cc segment bike is an impressive move. If you don’t want to spend much money, you have the option to choose the lower variant. This bike has the capability of giving its rivals the neck-to-neck competition. A commuting bike that is stylish and sporty at the same time can be a good choice.

User Reviews for Bajaj Pulsar
Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat Drum
Honestly, the Pulsar 125 Split Seat feels like a younger sibling of the classic Pulsar. The styling is sharp, and it’s comfortable for both rider and pillion. But I wish it had a bit more torque for quicker overtakes. For daily use, though the mileage and build make it a great pick.
Bajaj Pulsar N150
The Bajaj Pulsar N150 strikes a balance between performance and practicality. Its 149.68cc engine delivers adequate power for urban commutes. The lightweight chassis enhances maneuverability, while the semi-digital console adds a modern touch. However, the lack of a rear disc brake is noticeable during hard braking.
Reasonable bike with easy commuting
TVS XL 100 is a per bike for those who have tight budget. It come under 50k price and best suitable for daily commute. I bought this bike for my gardener who’s living with us for more than 20 years. He is really happy for this gift, now he can use this for his part time. The mileage is very sufficient of 50kmpl. The built up quality is strong and durable. However the pick up is the biggest drawback for TVS XL 100. I must say, apart from pick up everything is good to go. It has very low maintenance as well.
Capable For Carrying Heavy Loads
The TVS XL 100 is a good low-budget two-wheeler that has a 99.7 cc engine. It can support a good amount of weight.
it delivers excellent mileage up to 60–70 km, and the starting price is Rs. 31,079. The metal body of the scooter ensures its durability and stability, it is best for daily rides as it is affordable for poor people as well. It can carry huge loads since it has the energy efficiency and a sturdy load carrier. Its spare parts and other equipment have low prices which makes it more affordable and easy to maintain.
Review for NS200
Overall NS200 is the best bike in the World in this price range, other companies offer the best bikes like Duke 200, and Honda Hornet 2.0 but the price is high.
Best Features: Power of NS200
Pros: Power, Comfortable, Performance, Value for Money, Low Maintenance, Looks.
Cons: Weight, Mileage, Instrument Console.
