Bajaj Platina 100 Electric Start Alloy CBS Review
Overview
One of the most popular commuter bikes in the Indian market, Bajaj Platina 100 is a bike that is popular for quite a lot of things. While the design of the bike may remain outdated, the other factors tip the scales to a good sales report. The bike is quite value for its money and is easily maneuverable through the traffics. The mileage on the bike makes it quite economical as well, and the after-sales service of the bike is quite manageable as well, with Bajaj’s wide service network all across the country.
The Bajaj Platina 100 is powered by a 102cc single cylinder, 2 valve, DTS-i with ExhausTEC technology petrol engine that allows the bike to have a maximum power of 8 bhp at 7500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.6 Nm at 5000 rpm. The fuel is supplied to the engine by a PTE 16 manual choke carburetor. The engine itself is mated to a four speed gearbox that allows the bike to provide a mileage of around 80 kmpl, managing a top speed of around 90 kmph at the same time. The bike features an electric start, ensuring that the bike is easy to drive in traffic conditions.
The Bajaj Platina 100 is built around a Tubular Single Down Tube with Lower Cradle frame. The suspension duties are handled by a telescopic hydraulic at the front and trailing arm with co- axial hydraulic shock absorber and coil springs at the rear. The bike has 17-inch alloy wheels and 110mm drum brakes at both ends. Both the fuel gauge and the speedometer are analogue and display all the necessary information that is required while riding. The ride height and the long travel of the suspensions on the bike makes it quite comfortable to ride everyday for commutes.
