UM Renegade Commando Review

UML was one of the most awaited brand that would enter India in the year 2016. After a long and tiring wait, UM finally partnered Lohia Group and started their Indian branch, UML by launching 3 bikes at the Auto Expo 2016. The best and the most popular model was Renegade Commando 300 and it has been launched in India with a price tag of INR 1,59,000. A pure at heart cruiser with a war theme is how we can define a Commando 300.

The Commando comes in three shades namely Burgundy Shine, Green Matt and Black Shine. It uses front the star logo with Renegade Commando written over it on the fuel tank. Every angle of the bike looks classy and the front view would make you feel as if you have a vintage bike in front of you. Black spoke wheels with fat tyres and a nearly square backrest makes it a true cruiser. The front forks of the bike gets covers while engine gets a white colored 4 valve, 6-speed label.

The engine powering the Commando 300 is a 280 cc, carburetor fed and liquid cooled motor producing 24.8 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 21.8 NM @ 7,000 rpm. The engine is a single cylinder unit mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The wet weight of the bike is 172 kg and that may make the performance figures feel dull on the real life performance end. The braking power at the front comes from 280 mm disc with 2 piston calipers.

The 1545 mm of long wheelbase and 750 mm of low sea height provides a comfortable riding experience. UML claims a top speed of 125 kmph whereas the bike comes with a huge 18 liter fuel tank. Commando 300 is great way of expressing a person's love for both cruisers and vintage bikes at the same time whereas it carries all the modern equipments for a memorable ride.
