Maruti Ritz Diesel VDi ABS

About
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz Diesel VDi ABS is a well-rounded hatchback that combines performance, comfort, and practicality. Powered by the 1248 cc Fiat MJD engine, it produces 85.8 bhp and 190 Nm of torque, ensuring robust performance across various driving conditions. The car features a manual transmission and comes equipped with essential features like central locking, digital odometer, air conditioner, and keyless entry. The interior space is generous, with good leg room and a comfortable seating arrangement, although the rear seat leg room can be compromised if the front seats are fully extended. The boot space is sufficient for small family trips. The Ritz also boasts good ride quality and handling, making it a pleasure to drive on both city roads and highways. However, it does have some minor drawbacks such as body roll and less-than-ideal rear visibility, but overall, it remains a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and efficient diesel hatchback.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz Diesel VDi ABS is a practical and value-for-money option in the Indian market. This car stands out for its robust Fiat MJD engine, which delivers excellent performance, particularly on highways where it can cruise smoothly at 100 kmph. The engines tuning allows for a smooth pull from 1400-1500 rpm, and the gearbox, though not the smoothest, is reliable. The Ritz offers good handling and stability at sane speeds, although it can be unsettled by strong crosswinds and fast-passing vehicles. The Electronic Power Steering (EPS) is light and aids in better handling, though it may lack the feedback that enthusiasts might prefer. Despite some drawbacks like body roll and less-than-ideal rear visibility, the Ritz is a solid choice for those seeking a dependable diesel hatchback with good fuel economy and ample interior space.
Price
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz Diesel VDi ABS, although discontinued, can provide a benchmark for understanding its value. At the time of its sale, the ex-showroom price for the Ritz VDi ABS was around Rs. 6.17 lakh. On-road prices varied by location but typically added another Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000, including registration, insurance, and other costs, bringing the total to approximately Rs. 6.87 lakh to Rs. 7.07 lakh. Given its features and performance, the Ritz was priced competitively, making it an attractive option for buyers looking for a diesel hatchback within a budget.

I am riding Ritz since two years. It's a good car for small family of four members. The overall design is nice and different. Most of it, it's a fuel efficient car which is the prime need of every buyer. Initially, I got 12kmpl average through this car which later improved to 14kmpl. Yes, now it is constant at 14. I believe it depends upon the driving skills also that how well you treat your car. I always drive at moderate speed with less gear shifting. Ergonomically, its really amazing with good rolling of seats. The front seats are good enough to provide clear visibility of the road thanks to high driving position. The rear seats are also comfortable for long tours and it support lots of spaces for needy stuff. Overall, it provides smooth drive even with 5 on-board passengers. I must recommend this car to everyone.

cars sharing platform and engines but that can’t be referred as
rebadging because they are different in terms of body panels and
interiors. Rebadged cars are almost identical to each other in every
aspect. It’s the way of saving money and time for those auto giants
which have multiple brands. It’s always costly and time consuming to
develop a whole new car. In other international markets, it’s a regular
practice but it’s new for Indi
