Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti 800 LPG is a stalwart in the Indian automotive landscape, particularly for those seeking a reliable, fuel-efficient, and cost-effective vehicle. My experience with this car has been nothing short of impressive, especially considering its age and simplicity. The engine performance is commendable, with smooth gear shifting and decent pickup, even when switching between petrol and LPG modes. The vehicles ability to deliver high mileage, both in petrol and LPG versions, makes it an attractive option for daily commuters. However, its important to note that the car is not designed for enthusiasts or those seeking high-performance driving. For its price and intended use, the Maruti 800 LPG is a solid choice, offering great value for money and minimal maintenance costs.
Price
The Maruti 800, although an older model, still has a presence in the used car market in India. The prices for a used Maruti 800 LPG can vary widely depending on the year, condition, and location. Generally, you can expect to pay between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh for a well-maintained model from the early 2000s to the mid-2010s. For example, a 2010 model in good condition might cost around Rs 2 lakh. When purchasing from a dealer, the on-road price might include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and any necessary repairs, which could add another Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh to the total cost. Given its reliability and low running costs, the Maruti 800 LPG offers a compelling financial proposition.

I live in Kolkata. We have the 2001 STD Model. Recently, we have restored the one with full engine overhauling, and loaded this car with more features. We drive this car every time. I love the Maruti 800. I am a fan of it.
Best Features: Air Conditioning, Music System, Accessories Socket
Pros: Good performance, power to weight ratio, mileage, easy and fun to drive, easy to maintain, easy to drive in crowded areas
Cons: The interiors could have been a little better. Bad smell when it is old, less space in the car
