India’s passenger-vehicle exports rose 1.3% to 4,51,479 units in April–September 2026, according to reported industry data. Maruti Suzuki accounted for 2,30,576 passenger vehicles, or about 51.1% of the total. The figures cover the first half of financial year 2027.
How the export total and Maruti share were calculated
India shipped 4,45,884 passenger vehicles in the comparable period a year earlier. The latest total was 5,595 units higher, a rise of approximately 1.3%. Dividing Maruti’s passenger-vehicle shipments by the industry passenger-vehicle total for the same period gives a share of about 51.1%.

Why the scope matters
The total covers passenger vehicles. Company-wide export reports can use a different perimeter, including light commercial vehicles. Domestic dispatches and retail registrations measure different markets and should be compared separately.
What the figures say about India’s export market
Passenger-vehicle shipments edged up in the first half, with just over half coming from one manufacturer. The figures describe export volumes. To assess which models and destinations are driving that growth, the next step is a like-for-like breakdown by model and market over the same period.
