Discussions and Questions Mg
What impact does the 2018 Vantage’s AMG engine have on the “Aston Martin-ness” of the car?
03 February 2025 11:28
It's a mixed bag. The rear end and overall silhouette still look great, however. Reasons why, however, is the fact that you can see where this design language originated through the eighties, and the front end is beginning to feel past its sell by date in comparison to newer Astons.
Does MG Majestor have what it takes to beat Toyota Fortuner?
23 January 2025 10:47
Why not? MG has been on fire with tech features. However, Fortuner is not the only car that the Majestor could give a run for its money, if they price it right.
The MG Majestor is going to be a big car, but will it be a fuel guzzler?
23 January 2025 10:47
I think we're missing the point. I mean in a country with so much poverty, is there really anything to celebrate in these fuel hungry monster?
Will the MG Majestor eat into sales of the Gloster?
23 January 2025 10:47
It’s not about cannibalizing sales, it’s about providing customers with more options. There will be some people who will want the biggest SUV possible and others who will want the slightly smaller Gloster.
Is the MG Majester just a rebadged Chinese SUV?
23 January 2025 10:47
We have this obsession with "origin" that I think we need to get over. Almost all cars in these days are sharing platforms and components. That's how the industry works these days.
Is the MG Majestor too big for Indian roads?
23 January 2025 10:47
Size doesn't matter, it's about the skill of the driver. I've seen people in Innovas drive through the gullies of Old Delhi, the narrowest of gullies. The Majestor will be fine if they can do that.
This brings us to the biggest question – how will the MG M9 EV’s range hold up in real Indian driving conditions?
23 January 2025 10:12
I think people are too pessimistic. EVs have come a long way. Of course, it doesn’t need to reach 500km, but 400km is plenty for most families.
Can MG M9 EV's luxury features survive the use and abuse of Indian family use?
23 January 2025 10:12
I think Indian engineering is underestimated. If MG is smart they’ve adapted these features for our conditions. Indian families are also pretty careful with their cars, plus.
Is MG M9 EV capable of changing the perception of MG as a premium brand in India?
23 January 2025 10:12
No chance. In India, MG still has that budget brand image. It's not going to change overnight just because you slap a high price tag on a car.
Is the MG M9 EV all it’s hyped up to be?
23 January 2025 10:12
The hype is real, but the reasons may not be what people think. No it's not about the luxury features, it's about the range and the charging capabilities, 500km range and fast charging? That's a game changer for family road trips.
Will the MG M9 EV’s sliding doors fit in the tight Indian parking spots?
23 January 2025 10:12
I am more concerned with power failures. You could get stuck inside with no electricity (and no way to open the doors). MG damn well better have a good manual override system.
The MG Hector Plus is how future proof when it comes to technology and features?
07 January 2025 09:30
However, the ADAS features are nice, but they’re not as refined as a couple of European brands. I wonder how they will look in a few years.
Is the MG Hector Plus really a true 7 seater SUV?
07 January 2025 09:30
The game changer is an adjustable middle row. It's more versatile than some competitors because you can balance legroom between the second and third rows.
The MG Hector Plus is a reliable car in the long run?
07 January 2025 09:30
Reliability has been fine, but a few sensors and electronics have been niggling me. It's nothing major, but more than I thought I would get for a new car.
Can the MG Hector Plus justify the price premium over its 5 seater sibling?
07 January 2025 09:30
It’s not just the extra seats that make the Plus feel more premium overall. It’s worth it for me thanks to the interior upgrades.
How does the MG Hector Plus fare on Indian roads when compared to its rivals?
07 January 2025 09:30
It's a mixed bag. Straight roads they are comfortable on but they are not the most confidence inspiring in tight turns or hilly areas.
Is the MG Comet roadworthy for Indian roads?
07 January 2025 08:04
Initially I was worried about safety, but after driving it I'm pretty secure. It’s a solid feeling car, and the safety features are impressive for its size. And it's nimble enough to avoid accidents.
Can the MG Comet EV drive EV adoption in India?
07 January 2025 08:04
It turns out that the quirky design might actually be helping EV adoption. People are talking and thinking about electric cars in a way that they don't about the more conventional looking EVs.
Is MG Comet EV actually a practical car for Indian cities?
07 January 2025 08:04
Practical? Of course, if you’re single and only drive within the city, maybe. It's way too limited for a family or anyone who has to be out of town occasionally. With a normal hatchback that can do it all, you are better off.
Does the MG Comet's quirky design work in its favour or against it?
07 January 2025 08:04
At first, I thought it was weird, but it’s grown on me. There's something nice about it, and the small size makes sense for what it's being used for. It also stands out in a sea of cars that look the same.
