The MG Hector Plus is a reliable car in the long run?

Many car buyers look for reliability, which is a big thing for many when buying a car, from a relatively new brand in the Indian car market as MG is. There is a long experience of the Hector Plus on the road for a few years now, and owners have already experienced the long term performance of the car. Build quality reports are all mixed up, while some praise its sturdiness, others talk about issues like electronics and software glitches. Availability of spare parts and the quality of after sales service, both have a determining role in the overall ownership experience. Buyers of this vehicle expect a certain level of dependability and hassle free ownership for a vehicle in this price range. Therefore, what is the real world maintenance and repair experience of its owners, and how has the Hector Plus proved itself in the real world?

I’ve had mine for two years and they’ve been rock solid. It was no major issues, just routine maintenance.

Sometimes the infotainment system buggs. It’s not a deal breaker, but it can be very annoying when it acts up.

Reliability has been fine, but a few sensors and electronics have been niggling me. It's nothing major, but more than I thought I would get for a new car.

On my experience, MG's after sales service has been great. Sucess! They're real people, who are responsive and seem committed to keeping customers happy.

Long term reliability was something I was concerned about, but it has so far exceeded my expectations. Feels solidly built.

I have had issues with the air conditioning system, but for me the engine and transmission has been bulletproof.

It's been hit or miss. I know some owners that have had zero problems, others seem to spend more time in the service center than they would like.

I think for a relatively new brand they are doing ok. It’s a quality product, but there are some teething problems.
