Yamaha YZF-R25 Review

31 Jan, 2019 03:37 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Yamaha has been doing its best to keep the spirit of racing alive in every offering made to date and the best example of an affordable sports bike can be seen in the R25. It clearly shows that style and power can mix evenly together and form such a bond that won't even break at the hardest times of all. The Yamaha R25 has a really impressive design with its aggressive twin front headlight design and the side body evenly surrounding them. The fuel tank is full of edges, giving it a very muscular appeal. The rider seating position is so well managed that the seat height gets evenly reduced and riding becomes easy for a medium length person also. The design clarifies the racing definition and a very gently designed exhaust gives the side profile 5 out of 5.

The R25 comes with a 249 cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled engine, producing 35.5 BHP @ 12000 rpm and 22.1 NM @ 10000 rpm. The gearbox being used is a 6-speed manual, with fuel injection for better efficiency and performance. The bike has a top speed of 173 kmph, which for a 250cc offering is a mark of its high-performance nature. The suspension is used on the YZF-R25 for the front is the 41 mm telescopic forks, whereas the rear has a mono-shock suspension. The R25 uses a 298 mm floating disc at the front whereas the rear is managed by a 220 mm single disc. 110/70 and 140/70 tires of 17 inch are used for the front and rear respectively. The whole system unites while racing and provides sharp cornering and more grip on uneven roads.

Why Yamaha YZF-R25 seems to be over-priced in comparison to other bikes available in its segment?

I think Yamaha engines are more clear and sharper as compared to others and one most important thing is that the company is very laborious to work and develop good results to each of any parts of company's all products..
Why Yamaha YZF-R25 seems to be over-priced in comparison to other bikes available in its segment?

Yamaha R25 and R3 both are really costly machines when we compare them to other bikes of similar segment. The reason...well they are not made in India, they are made in Indonesia and will be imported as CKD units and would be assembled here hence the high cost. Look at the ktm bikes, the Duke and RC (125, 200, 390) all are manufactured in India thats why they are sold at a competition destroying prices, where as in other countries they are sold at a considerable premium price coz its exported from India to those countries.
Why Yamaha YZF-R25 seems to be over-priced in comparison to other bikes available in its segment?
29 December 2022 05:44
The Yamaha R-25 is a twin cylinder bike which produces much more power than the rivals in the segment. The only reason for its high cost is the quality of materials used for the bike and its performance really justifies its cost.

I think r25 will be a gr8 bike in terms of performance n fuel efficiency can beat ninja 300 easily also will be good for long routes where duke 390 is not feasible for touring

This bike is looking more or less same as Cbr 250R.. they must have been copied the prototype of cbr expect the delta box style at the rear end..that is appreciable. though i still recommend for the riders to choose cbr 250 for the comfort and mileage bike and ninja for comfort and performance. but this bike.. its too costly and not affordable for the 250cc dream bikers. and this bikes performance is little danger for city rides. so if i had to choose the best 250cc bike, i would consider cbr 250 as i know about it very much, it is best and affordable for the riders those who are not able to buy ninja 250. Think well before you buy any bikes.. :)

There will be an era wen Indians will ride quarter liter powerful bikes like R25 and Hero HX250R.
Both the bike is fabulous. one with twin cylinders another with single and they will rule the market based on price and power Gud Luck.
bad luck starts for all 250 n 200cc bikes.

What we have is not cbr its vfr.. Don't compare r25 with cbr . R25 is top notch true sports bike inspired my yamaha s moto gp yzr m1. Ninja 300 is upgraded category with highly expensive components that could never be compared with any bike except for rc390 . R25 is will be slightly better performer than outgoing ninja 250 and 2 places behind mighty rc390 & ninja 300. Cbr can never be matched with r25 which extremely a top performance sports bike.

wow Just noticed 35bhp out of R25..awesome competitor for 200/250/300cc category. shuld be king of 250cc bike, Yamaha u proved u r great and the wait was worth..
This bike is going to be an epic...!

yamaha R25 looks great and it is for sure gonna break all the records even if it is getting launched lately, yamaha always does that and same like R15... Maximum power that can be produced from a 250cc twin cylinder is 45bhp..Yes its 45bhp you heard that, But Ninja250 did only 32bhp. And if R25 gets more power beyond that, also keeping some mileage considerations n price, then it would be an epic epic bike under 250 category.. Even it would be a good competitor to Ninja300 and Duke390...Not considering CBR250/300 they are less powered...its different in its category, not to compete with other bikes...
