Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha Gladiator SS is a standout in the 125cc segment, offering a blend of style, performance, and comfort that sets it apart from its competitors. From my experience, the bikes build quality is superb, with attention to detail evident in the paint finish, the machine-gun type muffler, and the aluminium footrests. The handling is remarkably agile, making it a joy to ride, especially on twisty roads. The front disc brake provides confident stopping power, and the 5-speed gearbox is slick and easy to use. While it may not have been a best seller in its class, the Gladiator SS is definitely the sportiest 125cc motorcycle available, making it a great choice for those seeking a more dynamic riding experience.
Price
The Yamaha Gladiator SS was priced competitively in the Indian market. At the time of its launch, the ex-showroom price was around Rs. 46,350, which was relatively high compared to some of its competitors but justified by the quality of parts and features offered. On-road prices would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, pushing the total to around Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000. Given the features like front disc brakes, self-start, and a tachometer, which were industry-firsts in the 125cc segment, the price was reasonable for the value it provided.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:29 PM
When it comes to mileage, the Yamaha Gladiator SS delivers respectable figures. Owners have reported an average mileage of around 50-55 kmpl, which is on par with other bikes in its class. With proper maintenance and a lighter hand on the throttle, its possible to achieve up to 60-65 kmpl. This makes the Gladiator SS a viable option for daily commuters who are concerned about running costs.
