Over 720 units of the Yamaha Fazer 250cc have been recalled in India over a loose engine head cover bolt. Owners can get their bike fixed at authorised Yamaha dealerships for free. The Fazer 250 now retails at Rs 1,44,680 (ex-showroom Delhi). Expect the price to go further up by around 10-15 percent for the BS6-compliant iteration.

Sunday, 13 October 2024 03:29 PM Yamaha has unveiled the Nova Fazer FZ 25 in Brazil, featuring a new paint scheme of white with golden-coloured wheels and contrasting accents. This model also includes a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity through the Yamaha Y-Connect app. The same 249cc single-cylinder engine producing 21.3bhp is retained. I think this new design and tech update could make the FZ 25 appealing again if its relaunched in India.
Thursday, 14 November 2019 04:20 PM India Yamaha Motor issued a voluntary recall for 13,348 units of the FZ 25 and Fazer 25 to address an issue related to the head cover bolt loosening. This recall affects 12,620 units of the FZ 25 and 728 units of the Fazer 25. I believe such proactive measures by the company enhance customer trust and safety.
Monday, 21 January 2019 02:31 PM Yamaha launched the dual channel ABS versions of the FZ 25 and Fazer 25 in India, priced at Rs. 1.33 lakh and Rs. 1.43 lakh respectively. This update was part of the launch of the new-gen 2019 Yamaha FZ V3.0. I think the addition of ABS is a significant safety enhancement for these bikes.
Sunday, 07 January 2018 07:44 AM The Yamaha FZ 25 and Fazer 25 were recalled in India to rectify an issue related to head cover bolt loosening, affecting 23,897 units manufactured from January 2017. This recall was initiated to ensure the safety and reliability of the motorcycles. I believe such recalls are crucial for maintaining the integrity of the brand.
Wednesday, 28 June 2017 11:36 AM The Yamaha Fazer 25 was scheduled to be launched around the festive season in 2017, with production commencing in August of the same year. This launch marked Yamahas return to the premium performance segment in India. I think this was an exciting move by Yamaha to capture a larger market share.

Vehicle Overview Yamaha Fazer 250, the faired motorcycle is purely based on FZ25, carrying the same 249cc, fuel injected engine producing 20.69 BHP and 20 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle was first expected with a dual headlight design but soon, spy shots of the same carrying a single headlight started arriving. Fans are disappointed up to some extent as Fazer series was known for its amazing design while practicality can even be achieved from the current design. Both the quarter liter motorcycles (FZ25 and Fazer 25) carry INR 10,000 of price difference and exactly identical yet highly practical frame under their visible body types.

Please don't launch this bike without ABS. Atleast provide ABS as optional.
