Yamaha Fascino Review

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Yamaha's new offering with a very elegant new grille has been revealed by the company. Every chance of it being a 125 cc scooter has ended as Yamaha again brings the same engine as used on its Ray, Ray Z and Alpha. This time few things have changed more than expected and the outcome is really interesting, in the form of new Yamaha Fascino.

Design & Style

Yamaha Fascino carries with itself the most interesting curves in the scooter segment, reflecting a part of it as retro and the other being more than a modern design. The front represents the old school fashion on the headlight part and a very attractive design, resembling a crown on the body. The seat seems to be lean on the front for easy handling and the side body design is sharp enough for the heads to turn. The 3D logo on the body looks perfect and everything sounds premium for the segment.

Instrument Console

The Fascino houses a console which has a class apart. As its name define, its features are fully fashionable, including its console too. It comes with a really different touch, having a different shape than other consoles available in the market. It houses an analogue speedometer and a fuel indicator, surprisingly in a cloud shaped housing, filling the rest of space with a parabolic frame. The background stays white, with a Fascino branding inside it.

Engine & Performance

The Fascino shares the same family engine of Yamaha, the 113 cc motor, generating 7 BHP @ 7500 rpm and 8.1 NM @ 5000 rpm. Performance of the engine stays normal as other scooters but wins over with a claimed mileage of 66 kmpl by Yamaha. You can expect real-world mileage to be around 45-55 kmpl. The scooter weights 103 kg and the only drawback being its low ground clearance of 128 mm. The blue core technology helps in refining the performance and also increases the mileage of the Fascino.

Comfort while Riding

The comfort of the rider has been fully justified by Fascino. It provides the rider with an easy storage on the right front side, keeping wallet, mobile or even a water bottle during a ride. The under seat storage can keep a helmet and then even some space is left for other valuables. The front seat has a 7 mm leaner design than the back, making it easy for the rider to step down when needed.

Brakes & Suspension

Unfortunately, both the brakes have been kept drum on the Fascino. It comes with a front telescopic suspension, making it easy to ride on bumpy roads also. The rear gets a unit swing type suspension. The tyres being used on both ends are 90/100-10. The smaller pair of 10 inch tires sound out dated at times when 12 inches are also readily available and Yamaha missed this out willingly.

Yamaha offers the new Fascino in 5 classy shades namely Sassy Cyan, Rouge Red, Haute White, Cool Cobalt and Tuxedo Black.
