USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The UM Renegade Thor is a bold and innovative entry into the electric motorcycle segment in India. With its powerful 30kW electric motor producing around 50 bhp and 70Nm of torque, this cruiser offers a compelling blend of performance and eco-friendliness. The inclusion of a 5-speed gearbox and a belt drive system adds a unique twist to the traditional electric bike experience. The styling, reminiscent of the Renegade Commando, brings a classic American cruiser look that is sure to appeal to those who value both form and function. However, the charging times, especially with the standard level 2 charger, might be a deterrent for some, ranging from 2 to 7 hours for a full charge. Despite this, the Thors zero-emission ride, dual-channel ABS, and advanced features like the potential integration of CASH and BSM systems make it a significant contender in the market.
Price
The UM Renegade Thor is priced competitively in the Indian market, starting at INR 4.9 lakh ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the price can escalate to around INR 5.5 to 6 lakh, depending on the state and local regulations. This pricing positions the Renegade Thor as a premium segment option, making it an attractive choice for those looking to transition to an electric vehicle without compromising on power or style. The cost, while higher than some conventional motorcycles, is justified by the advanced technology, reduced running costs due to lower electricity charges compared to fuel, and the environmental benefits.

Amazing style and the best performance. Definitely a head turner (why I bought it). Still running on all original parts since 6 years. Never had to spend more than Rs. 800 on a service or anything. I was caught in an accident which tilted the leg guard a bit, but the bike that crashed into me completely shattered and it's internal metal frame started showing. Only con is the battery life and service centers.

Cons: Battery Life, Service Centers.

I have completed 7278 km till now. A total of six 1-day trips and three long trips have been completed. Positive points 1- On highway, I'm getting 40km/l (on a cruiser, its great in my opinion) 2- 100% head turner in the city & on the highway. 3- Those who overtake me, they slows down & take a look at my bike due to its style. 4- Wide rear tyre gives me confidence in turns and hairpin bends. 5- 60-90kmph is the bike's sweet spot, it rides smoothly. 6- Less vibration on 5-6th gear in highway. 7- Continuous riding no problem to rider, bike, engine and no heating issue. 8- Till now, no breakdown 9- Tank capacity is 18 litres (best for touring). 10- Service cost around 1000/- (free service), 1500-2000/- (paid service). Negative points 1- Chain sound is loud in 2,3,4 gear in city conditions. 2- Mileage in city is 25km/l. 3- Engine heats up in city. 4- Quality of parts. 5- Vibration while riding in city.

Pros: Looks, Long Ride Comfort
