TVS Zeppelin 220 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
TVS Zeppelin is the most interesting product that they showcased at Auto Expo 2018. As they follow the same rule by showing a concept at Auto Expo and bringing a production version between the next two years, Zeppelin will be launched before the next Auto Expo for sure. The concept is using a 220cc, single cylinder engine and power values are yet to be revealed. The engine segment places it right against Bajaj Avenger 220 but TVS has kept benchmarks higher with premium features on Zeppelin 220.
Starting from its tyres, Zeppelin features spoke wheels with disc brakes at both ends. Front features golden USD forks, most probably shared with their range-topping Apache RR 310. The forks are aligned in a cruiser specific manner and thus, extended wheelbase is clearly visible on Zeppelin 220. They are using all new headlight, fuel tank and seating arrangement for Zeppelin 220, making it feel different from every TVS motorcycle manufactured till date. E-boost feature on the motorcycle may not enter production but under concept form, it was said to offer additional power on demand to the rider.
Above all, TVS used belt drive for a quiet riding experience and could be the first manufacturer of its kind to offer this feature. If all these features are here to stay, the price tag will be quite higher than one expects but, in reality, TVS may skip some of them to get a price tag under INR 1.35 lakh. This way, their target audience will change from Bajaj Avenger to Royal Enfield Classic 350. Also, present generation UM motorcycles will rival Zeppelin to create a long list of cruiser options around this price tag. Zeppelin 220 will carry LED lights and various segment first features and robust built quality from TVS that others may not offer here.
