Vespa Esclusivo 125

About
The Vespa Esclusivo 125 was a special edition scooter introduced by Piaggio in India. Mechanically, it was identical to the regular VX 125, powered by a 125cc engine that produced 9.92 PS of power and 10.6 Nm of torque. The scooter featured disc brakes and tubeless tires, enhancing its safety and handling. The design was its standout feature, with a modern look and blacked-out trim that gave it a fresh and contemporary feel. The Esclusivo edition did not include ABS, which might be a consideration for some buyers. Overall, it was a stylish and performance-oriented scooter that appealed to those who valued both form and function.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Vespa Esclusivo 125, although discontinued since September 2016, was a unique offering in the Indian scooter market. My experience with this scooter highlights its stylish and retro design, which was a major selling point. The 125cc engine, producing 9.92 PS of power and 10.6 Nm of torque, provided decent performance, especially for urban commuting. However, the after-sales service and the availability of service centers were significant concerns for many owners. The scooters ground clearance was also a issue, and the cost of spare parts was on the higher side. Despite these drawbacks, the Esclusivos design and performance made it a desirable choice for those who valued aesthetics and a smooth ride.
Price
The Vespa Esclusivo 125 was priced competitively in the Indian market during its time. The ex-showroom price in Delhi was not explicitly mentioned in the current sources, but given the pricing of other Vespa models around that period, it would have been in the range of 80,000 to 1,00,000. The on-road price would have included additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, likely pushing the total to around 1,00,000 to 1,20,000. While the pricing was premium compared to other scooters, the unique design and brand value of Vespa justified the cost for many buyers.
