Hero Dare 125 Review

22 Dec, 2015 04:43 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hero Dare has been one of the hot topics in the upcoming scooter list, resembling the category of Dio and Ray. The headlight in the body is a rare sight in Indian scooter market and you can even say it’s risky for the manufacturers too. Not most of the people are a fan of this arrangement but those who are, they will surely have a nice time with the new offering.

Design & Style

Hero Dare is a futuristic model, looking pretty ahead of its time. The neat use of LED's in the front clearly differentiates it from the others. Not just that, the aggressive front headlight and the black cutter alloys are a rear sight on a scooter to be launched in India. The petal disc at the front makes it look premium, with its body getting sharper near the both ends. Perfect combination of Black and Red makes it a neck twister.

Engine & Performance

The statistics are paperwork till date as no launch date has been fixed for the Dare. It comes with 124.6 cc engine, producing 9.4 BHP @ 7500 rpm and 9.8 NM @ 6500 rpm. Paper stats are pretty impressive, showing the scooter as one of the best ones to arrive in India. The gearbox as always stays automatic for the new generation of scooters.

Brakes & Suspension

The Hero Dare gets a hydraulic disc brake measuring 200 mm, with 2-piston calipers at the front whereas the rear gets the 130 mm dia drum brake. The braking power will be impressive on its 90/90-12 sized front tyre and the rear 100/90-10 will get the advantage of being wide. Telescopic front suspensions will make the ride more flexible and easy on uneven roads whereas the single hydraulic shock absorber at the rear will keep the pillion more comfortable.

Expected Shades & Variants

Black & Red has been the only shade spotted till date and the Dare is expected to be in a disc brake and a drum brake variant. The price of the Dare is expected to be INR 55,000.

Dare appears compromised on 2 factors, viz., the ground clearance 155cm, while suzuki offers 160cm, and the second: headlight on the body, which is a setback from my perspective, as you dont get the headlight to where the handle is turned. I am seriously planning to buy a scooter, and the factors that turn me away from suzuki access are 2, namely the price factor 70+ k, and 2nd lack of fuel port outside. I would have felt more easier with Access, had its rear wheel been 12". Apart from these, nothing else would deter me from choosing suzuki, considering its long lineage in the auto industry. So, Dare's features come a bit of a disappointment to me, as I was hoping it would fulfil all my expectations!

It will be Hero Moto Corp's answer to competition from Suzuki Access 125 and Honda Aviator.

I guess the specifications seems to be little better by adding couple of bhp to it, which will pump the power out of engine, Its looks really cool and awesome. Waiting for the launch.
