Kawasaki seems to be planning to introduce a brand new 150cc bike in India. The Ninja 250R has been under a lot of pressure ever since Honda launched the CBR250R, undercutting the Ninja 250 by more than 1.2 lakhs and rendering the latter as an extremely expensive option. Seems like Kawasaki is planning to get back in the game with a new model, this time a 150!

Tuesday, 12 November 2024 06:48 PM Kawasaki has no plans to launch the Ninja RR ZX150 in India due to its 2-stroke engine, which does not comply with the countrys emission regulations. This decision is a significant setback for enthusiasts who were eagerly awaiting this powerful 150cc bike. I believe this is a missed opportunity for Kawasaki to tap into the Indian market with a unique offering.
Sunday, 20 October 2024 04:37 PM There have been speculations about Kawasaki preparing a new 150cc bike for the Indian market, but it is unlikely to be the Ninja RR ZX150. Instead, the company might introduce a new model that meets Indias emission standards. I think this could be a strategic move to compete with other brands in the segment.
Monday, 30 September 2024 07:03 AM The Kawasaki Ninja RR ZX150, if it were to be launched, would have been priced around Rs 1.60 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh in India. However, due to its 2-stroke engine, this remains a distant possibility. I believe the pricing would have been competitive, but the environmental concerns take precedence.
Thursday, 15 August 2024 06:08 PM Kawasakis decision not to launch the Ninja RR ZX150 in India has sparked discussions among motorcyclists about the potential of 2-stroke engines in modern bikes. While these engines offer high performance, they fall short on emission standards. I think its a trade-off between performance and environmental compliance that manufacturers must consider.
Wednesday, 10 July 2024 09:26 AM The Ninja RR ZX150 is known for its athletic looks and high-performance capabilities, featuring a 149cc, 2-stroke engine that produces 28.2 BHP. However, its forward-leaning posture might not be ideal for long rides or daily commuting. I believe this bike would have been a great addition to Indias sports bike segment if it met the emission criteria.

Kawasaki Ninja RR ZX150 Review

28 Dec, 2015 04:34 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Kawasaki is slowly bringing its Ninja series to India and the competition is rising with such a fast level that each day will bring a new segment into the race world. The Kawasaki race bikes are unique, like they have some sort of charm while being on the track. The smallest offering in India was the Ninja 250R which was discontinued as 300R made a debut. Ninja RR was very much expected to rival the R15 in India, but Kawasaki can't bring Ninja RR 150 (ZX150) to India because it is a 2-stroke motorcycle.

Design & Style

The Ninja RR, as the family name goes, looks like a ready to race bike but the profile being lean and much simpler than the elders. But don't just go by the looks and tradition, it’s much more being offered for the money. The front gets a single headlight cluster only.

Engine & Performance

This would have been the wining phase for the Ninja if it would have been launched. The Ninja RR has a 149 cc motor, producing unbelievable 28.16 BHP @ 11000 rpm and 20 NM @ 9000 rpm. The engine being a 2-stroke, liquid cooled unit was a true powerhouse to the little Ninja. The six speed transmission equally distributes the power into each gear.

Brakes & Suspension

The Ninja RR has a double disc braking system, one for each wheel. The suspension was handled by 41 mm telescopic forks for the front and a monoshock for the rear. It's riding on 17 inch tyres measuring 90/90 for the front and 110/80 for the rear. The machine weighs 134 kg with a 10.8 litres of fuel tank.

Shades & Expected Price

Kawasaki manufactures the Ninja RR in Red, Yellow and Green shade and if ever arrives, it is priced at INR 1,60,000-1,80,000 in international markets. It won't be launched in India because it is a 2-stroke motorcycle.

The Kawasaki NInja RR ZX150 returned a mileage of 30-35 kmpl and came with a 149 cc, single cylinder, 2-stroke engine. The motorcycle produced 28.16 BHP and 20 NM of torque whereas the normal 150 cc bikes are nothing more than 14-15 BHP. It has a 6-speed gearbox and came with a 145 mm ground clearance. Its single headlight design looks aggressive and the chrome exhaust suits the body style perfectly. It will not be launched in India as it does not meet the current emission norms by being a 2-stroke bike.
