Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |

Is the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 suitable for new riders?
17 April 2025 17:00The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 can be a challenging but manageable bike for new riders, given its specific characteristics. It features a comfortable and upright riding position with decent legroom, which is more ergonomic compared to its sibling, the Vitpilen 701. The seat height is relatively low at 32.9 inches, making it accessible for a wide range of riders. However, the bike's powerful 693cc single-cylinder engine, producing 75 horsepower and 53.1 lb-ft of torque, requires some skill to handle, especially for those new to motorcycles. The bike's weight of 355 lbs and its sport-oriented handling might also demand more experience to fully appreciate. While a new rider like the one in the forum discussion managed to adapt and enjoy the bike, it is crucial for new riders to be aware of their limits and potentially consider more beginner-friendly options or extensive training before handling such a powerful machine.
-
Does the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 come with advanced electronics?
17 April 2025 17:00The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 is equipped with advanced electronics, including a ride-by-wire system, electronic fuel injection, and a standard traction control system. It also features a state-of-the-art BOSCH ABS system, which ensures high safety standards in varying braking conditions. Additionally, the bike comes with an up & down easy shift function, enhancing its rideability and performance capabilities[4).
-
What is the weight of the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701?
17 April 2025 17:00The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 has a wet weight of 355 pounds and a dry weight of 355 pounds with the tank empty, highlighting its lightweight design which is a key factor in its sporting potential and agility on the road.
-
Is the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 suitable for long-distance touring?
17 April 2025 17:00The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 is not ideally suited for long-distance touring due to several limitations. It has a small 12-litre fuel tank, which restricts its range between fill-ups. However, with careful planning and the addition of luggage such as tank bags, side cases, and dry bags, it can be made capable of handling week-long trips. The bike's upright riding position and fully adjustable WP suspension make it comfortable for long rides, but its sport-oriented design and lack of built-in touring features mean it requires additional modifications and accessories to be fully tour-ready. For example, adding luggage like the Kriega US30 and US20 dry bags, a SW-Motech tank bag, and side hardcases can enhance its touring capabilities. Despite these adjustments, it remains more suited for shorter, spirited rides rather than extended long-distance touring[4).

Will the Indian traditional buyers love the unconventional design of the Svartpilen 801?
28 January 2025 09:39That is exactly why it is going to be successful, it is an unconventional design. There’s a new weariness of cookie cutter bikes.
-
Can the Svartpilen 801 live up to its expected high price tag in the value conscious Indian market?

Is the KTM 790 Duke’s little brother, the Svartpilen 801, worth the premium over it?
28 January 2025 09:39If you can afford it, I’d say it’s worth it. The Svartpilen is that conversation starter and has that cool factor the Duke doesn’t have.
-
Will the 801 eat into the sales of the 401 in India?
28 January 2025 09:39I believe it will damage 401 sales. The 401's looks are so good that many people buy it, and the 801 has the same style with more power.

User Reviews for Husqvarna Svartpilen
Reliability & build quality
Husqvarna build quality can be inconsistent, but it’s something they’re working hard to fix. Like many owners, MCN has experienced problems with it long-term test bikes over the years, but you’ll equally find lots of happy customers enjoying miles of trouble-free fun.
Reliability & build quality
The Svartpilen (black arrow, hence the stealth black paintjob) 701 is heavily based on the KTM 690 Duke’s rolling tubular steel chassis and 692.7cc single cylinder motor. With exhaust, airbox and mapping tweaks, the bike now makes 74bhp - up two ponies on the donor engine. That makes the Svartpilen 701 the most powerful production single cylinder money can buy. It’s hard not to be impressed by the Husqvarna's thumping motor - behaving more like a racy, free-revving twin than what you’d expect a ploddy single to be.
