The Honda Activa Electric is a well-rounded electric scooter designed with the Indian market in mind. It retains the classic design of the petrol-powered Activa but with several modern updates. Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Activa Electric is a significant step forward in the electric two-wheeler segment in India, and my experience with it has been overwhelmingly positive. With a rating of 4.95 based on user reviews, its clear that this scooter has hit the right notes. The Activa Electric offers a perfect blend of performance, comfort, and practicality, making it an excellent choice for daily commuting. The removable lithium-ion battery, expected range of 100 to 150 kilometers on a single charge, and the efficient brushless DC motor all contribute to its appeal. Additionally, features like a fully digital instrument cluster, smart connectivity, and regenerative braking enhance the overall riding experience. While it may be slightly pricier than its petrol counterpart, the lower operating costs and government subsidies make it a compelling option for those looking to switch to electric.
Price
The Honda Activa Electric is anticipated to be priced around 1 lakh to 1.15 lakh ex-showroom in India. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price could go up to around 1.20 lakh to 1.30 lakh. While this is higher than the petrol-powered Activa, the long-term savings on fuel and maintenance make it a viable investment. The Indian governments push for electric vehicles through subsidies and incentives also helps in making the Activa Electric more economical. Considering the features, performance, and the brands reputation for reliability, the price seems justified and competitive in the market.
Latest Updates

Honda is set to unveil its first electric scooter, the Honda Activa Electric, on November 27. The scooter is expected to leverage the existing ICE Activa platform to keep development costs low and ensure a quicker market entry. It is anticipated to have a range of around 100-150 km on a single charge and will feature advanced technologies like a fully digital instrument cluster and in-vehicle infotainment. I believe this strategy will help Honda tap into the existing customer base of the Activa.

Honda has revealed plans to launch the Activa Electric with a starting price of approximately Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it to compete with other electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak Electric, TVS iQube, and Ola Electric S1. The scooter will likely retain the design and features of the ICE Activa to maintain affordability. I think this pricing will make it an attractive option for those looking to switch to electric.

The upcoming Honda Activa Electric will utilize a modified chassis from the ICE Activa to accommodate the battery pack, ensuring cost efficiency and faster mass production. It is expected to have telescopic front forks, disc brakes, and an all-digital instrument cluster with phone connectivity. I believe these features will make it a strong contender in the Indian electric scooter market.

Honda has announced that it will launch two EVs in FY24, with the Activa Electric being the first. This scooter will be locally developed and is expected to have a fixed battery pack, though there are plans for a more powerful EV scooter with swappable batteries later. I think this phased approach will help Honda establish a strong foothold in the EV market.

The Honda Activa Electric is expected to offer performance similar to the Activa 110, with a range of around 100 km. The scooter may feature removable batteries, although fixed batteries are also a possibility. It will have a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear, along with disc and drum brakes. I believe the balance between performance and practicality will be a key selling point.

The mileage of the Honda Activa Electric is one of its standout features, making it highly suitable for daily city commutes. With an expected range of 100 to 150 kilometers on a single charge, it easily covers the average daily travel distance of most urban riders. This range is achieved thanks to the efficient lithium-ion battery pack and the brushless DC motor, which provide smooth acceleration and sufficient power to handle city traffic. The removable battery and the option for fast charging, which can charge the battery to 80 in under an hour, further enhance the convenience. This mileage, combined with the low operating costs, makes the Activa Electric an economical and sustainable choice. After purchasing the new Honda Activa 6G in February 2021, I initially thought it was a good scooter. However, after a few days of use, I started to notice some strange noises coming from the engine and the brakes seemed to be of poor quality. Additionally, it had a much worse mileage than my previous Honda Activa 3G.
Therefore, I would strongly advise taking a look at other scooter models if you are considering buying the Honda Activa 6G. I found that there are other scooters that offer better performance, better mileage, and are overall a more reliable choice.
One of the most remarkable features of the Honda Activa 6G is its double hook-up design, but unfortunately it is open ended, which can be dangerous if you go over a bump. The start button with an on/off feature is an interesting addition, but it is not entirely necessary as you can simply turn the key off to shut down the engine.
I had an issue with the temporary number sticker I was removing above the petrol intake cover. Although I had closed it, it opened up and I can’t be sure if this is a genuine defect or not.
I would like to also point out that the tank size could be increased as it can get empty quite quickly when used as a daily commuter.
Honda Activa 6G has a great look, with a sleek and stylish design. However, its performance is not up to the mark with a mileage of less than 40 kmpl. The cost of the bike is also quite high compared to other bikes. To improve the quality of the model, Honda should focus on improving its performance and reducing the cost of the bike. This would surely help in making the Activa 6G a better choice among the customers.
It is a best in class product and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a scooter in India.
Best Features: Acceleration
Pros: Top speed
Cons: Suspension is a bit annoying at few places
I've been riding this for last 6 month and the best part is never felt the lack of power in the time of need compared to other bikes on the road..the disc brakes are impressive and works well.the mileage could have been little better, now getting around 40 kmpl, and the head lights are a bit too shallow.
Best Features: Disc brake, wider longer seat, fresh looks with chrome finish
Pros: Riding comfort, pickup
Cons: Head light, suspension
