Hero Xtreme 200S

About
The Hero Xtreme 200S is essentially a faired version of the Xtreme 200R, with several key upgrades. It features a striking full-LED headlamp and a Bluetooth-enabled LCD display that offers turn-by-turn navigation and call alerts. The bike retains the same 199.6cc, two-valve, air-cooled motor as the Xtreme 200R, producing 18.4hp and 17.1Nm of torque. The suspension, brakes, and tyre selection are also carried over, ensuring excellent handling and braking performance. The addition of a fairing gives it a sporty look, making it a great option for those seeking a stylish and feature-rich motorcycle in the 200cc segment. The bikes weight is slightly higher than the Xtreme 200R, but this does not significantly impact its ride quality or handling. Overall, its a solid choice for daily city riding and occasional short trips.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Xtreme 200S is a well-rounded motorcycle that caters to the needs of both city commuters and those looking for a sporty ride. While it doesnt excel in top-end performance, its handling and agility are standout features, making it a joy to ride through city streets and twisty roads. The addition of a full-LED headlamp and a Bluetooth-enabled LCD display with turn-by-turn navigation adds a modern touch. However, the air-cooled engine, though reliable, may not be the best choice for long rides due to heat issues. Overall, its a great option for those upgrading from a 150cc bike, offering good value for money, especially considering its competitive pricing and extensive service network.
Price
The Hero Xtreme 200S is priced at Rs 98,500 ex-showroom in Delhi, which places it in a competitive bracket with other 200cc faired motorcycles like the Suzuki Gixxer SF. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around Rs 1.15 lakh to Rs 1.20 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given the features and performance it offers, this price point is quite reasonable, especially for those who value the aesthetics and additional tech features over the naked version, the Xtreme 200R.

The prices will increase by Rs 1,500. This move is part of the companys strategy to adjust to rising production costs. I think this hike might affect sales slightly, but the Xtreme 200S 4Vs features should still attract buyers.
Saturday, 15 June 2024 05:30 PM The Hero Xtreme 200S 4V has been spotted in a new sporty yellow color, adding to its already stylish lineup. This new color scheme is expected to appeal to younger riders looking for a bold and funky design. I believe this color will be a hit, especially among the younger demographic.

I think this upgrade will make the Xtreme 200S 4V more competitive in its segment.

I believe these tech additions will make the bike more appealing to tech-savvy riders.
Friday, 15 March 2024 10:18 AM The Hero Xtreme 200S 4V is priced at Rs 1.41 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) and is available in a single variant. It competes with bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 160 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. The bike boasts a 199.6 cc engine and a claimed mileage of 40 kmpl. I think the pricing is competitive, making it a good option in its segment.

Tuesday, 10 November 2020 04:44 PM Hero MotoCorp launched the BS6 version of the Hero Xtreme 200S in November 2020, priced at Rs 1.16 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike features Heros XSens technology, an oil-cooler, and a new Pearl Fadeless White color. This update was crucial for meeting the new emission norms. I believe this move was necessary to keep the bike compliant and competitive.
Tuesday, 30 January 2018 01:53 PM The Hero Xtreme 200S was initially unveiled as the Xtreme 200S concept at the Auto Expo 2016 and later launched as the Xtreme 200R. It marked Hero MotoCorps return to the premium motorcycle segment. The bike was expected to be priced between Rs 80,000 to Rs 85,000 but was later launched at a different price point. I think this bike was an important step for Hero in the premium segment.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 04:19 AM The mileage of the Hero Xtreme 200S is decent but not exceptional. Users have reported an average mileage of around 45-50 kmpl in city riding conditions, which is acceptable for a 200cc motorcycle. However, this can vary based on riding style and traffic conditions. For those concerned about running costs, this mileage is manageable, especially considering the bikes performance and features. Its important to note that long rides might see a slight drop in mileage due to the air-cooled engine.

Hero Xtreme 200S Review

13 Feb, 2016 12:20 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hero MotoCorp won the best two wheeler pavilion award at the 2016 Auto Expo and all the credit goes to a Xtreme 200S and XF3R Concept. Both were the most exciting offerings at the Auto Expo and only TVS could complete with them with their mouth watering concepts.

Xtreme 200S can be termed as the best motorcycle because of its acceptable design as well as the practical approach by which it has been built. It looks production ready and would compete easily with the likes of other 200cc street fighters like Apache RTR 200 4V, and Pulsar NS200, if relaunched. The bike clarifies its relation with the 150cc Xtreme through the nearly identical shape of the headlight and taillight unit.

The differences from the younger sibling can be easily seen from its side view as the extra sharpness of the younger one turns into a differently designed side cowl for the fuel tank, which looks purely good to the new Xtreme. The exhaust unit design is basically same but gets a different covering, providing a different feel at the first glance. Mono-shock replaces the traditional suspension and the rear half starts looking more beautiful.

Alloy wheels are new and looks better than the others on Hero bikes. It would come equipped with a semi digital instrument console with a round tachometer at the left and a blue lit LCD panel at the right. It would display the fuel in such a manner that the intersecting screen finishes the circle of the tachometer with its fuel gauge.

Hero is conservative on the performance end and comes with a 200cc, air cooled and carburettor fed engine producing 18.34 BHP @ 8,500 rpm and 17.2 NM @ 6,000 rpm. The gearbox remains 5-speed and both the ends are equipped with ABS enabled disc brakes. The motorcycle is expected to carry a tag of INR 90,000 and it would definitely be the most practical as well as affordable 200cc motorcycle of India.

Service Centres does not do the proper work no changing of gear oil etc.mahim service Centre was my experience where I gave my bike for servicing. Buying this bike is a waste n very bad investment. While buying this bike we thought as it is an Indian company it will be good but this was not the case n u fooled us plzz don't do this.

Best Features: No best features as such coz spare parts starts to rust faster coz of low quality metal. As this an Indian company we purchased this bike now it's looking as a waste so buyers plzz don't buy this bike

Pros: Only the look

Cons: The mileage is not up to the mark it only gives 35-40 kmpl. As the speed crosses 50kmphr engine starts vibrating and it is too noisy. The chain loosens after every 15 days. Front disc brake is too noi
